GameCube scrubbed isos (gcm files to be exact) aldp work perfectly with wode. XenoGC is a real modchip not a ODE, that's a completely different thing

Indeed, this is true, but people were wondering why they were so big, and this would be the reason, regardless of scene rules or usefulness.

These titles are encrypted so you should see no difference between a sector filled with 0x00 or 0xFF and a sector filled with data.

What we need is a way to access the disc decrypted, then create a "data sectors only" iso, then use an iso-loader to re-encrypt on the fly so the WiiU doesn't know the difference. Once tricks are being played with "hidden" data, we will be back to full images.

I actually have felt that pain, my son totally snapped our brand new Nintendoland disc. This hasn't happened because all of my other systems have digital format games and he can work Wiiflow very easily.

It does...but Nintendo, being so awesome, sent me a new copy. Now UPS delivered it to the wrong house which suxxors major but they sent me ANOTHER copy.

All in all, Nintendo is a great company but I would not take this experience as typical - I think it was a 1x courtesy.

Replying to a post in the SDK thread, but it is about the dumps, so thought it'd be better here:

All game disc contents are encrypted with a random title key. This title key is encrypted with the common key. To decrypt the game disc data, you use the common key to decrypt the title key and use that title key to decrypt disc data blocks.

So apparently VENOM (TA:BfE EUR, 02 7C 95 57...), PoWeRUp (SM3DW USA, E2 3A EA 15...), and FAKE (TLoZ: TWW HD USA, C0 FE 8A AE) know how to obtain the title key.

Do they all (a) get enough access from vWii to WiiU mode to do all this, and (b) are able to run code that can access the drive and write to an unencrypted storage device and (c) have the WiiU Common Key? I can't say I've heard from either PoWeRUp and FAKE (both of which displaying a bitcoin donation address in their nfos) before this.

It'd be also interesting to know what WiiU firmware version is being used to make these dumps.

Well I imagine that if they are able to rip directly from the Wii U, that they also have a Wii or Wii U based program that allows them to do this, or are they going about it by some external, hardware based solution?

I am hoping for the former. I already own about all the Wii U games I want atm, and besides it's the possibility of home brew that I'm after. I'm still dying for a good media player.

IIRC the keys are handled in the drive itself so modifying the image may not be needed at all..
