Hello!
Some time last year I booted up my Wii and the Wii games off WiiFlow suddenly didn't work anymore. It would just restart. Gamecube games still work, of course.
It's been so long since I hacked my Wii and unfortunately I didn't think to note down how I got it to work when it did work, so now I'm trying to backtrack where I went wrong... In a panic I installed some random wads on 249, then I thought to slow down and do some research. First I ran a SysCheck:
Took a while to figure out, but it seems I mistakenly reinstalled the wrong wad on IOS249. I read quite a bit and assumed I had to use cIOS Installer to install cIOS249[56]-d2x-v10beta52 onto it. Wii's internet won't work for some reason (problem for another day), so I used NUS Downloader on the computer to download IOS56-64-v5661.wad and move it to root for cIOS Installer to use. I followed this cIOS Installation guide. (Also found this Wii cIOS base Compatibility List which proved it hardly matters if you have 56 on 249 and 57 on 250, or vice versa.)
But even with cIOS249[56]-d2x-v10beta52 on 249, 57 on 250, and 251 uninstalled, it didn't work. Here's the SysCheck:
Then I found a couple suggestions from two threads:
To try deleting wiiflow.ini in the apps wiiflow folder since it might be corrupted.
To force Wiiflow to use cIOS slot 250. I tried forcing 249, too.
But these solutions didn't work either for me... I could install v8final instead of v10beta52, but the above compatibility guide says they're the same and I even saw a more recent thread that discouraged v8final.
Does someone have any other suggestions I could try? It's a bit hard to search through everything, information is either outdated or incorrect.
I was hoping to get this working by tomorrow so I can let my baby cousin relive his days playing Kirby's Epic Yarn when I visit him!
Thank you in advance!
