I'm pretty sure that's what Nintendo is going for. Handheld VC on 3DS, home console VC on WiiU.

Eh, oh well, I'm happy with the GBA games on the 3DS. I play them from time to time.

They really need to release all of the Wii's virtual console library straight away on the the Wii U. Then they can spend their time drip feeding us GBA and GameCube releases, and the empty library of Wii U games won't feel so empty anymore with a full VC backlog.

But this is Nintendo we're talking about, of course they have to drip feed content that has already been released before...

well technically they already are...if you go into vWii mode, the shop is still intact

I am pretty disappointed with the Virtual Console. I had hopes that they would release Super Metroid in the first batch. But nope, we got all of the other games they had out for $.30 already, plus a few new ones.

Why would they release Super Metroid before May...wait a second.

I bookmarked the page of the 30 cent promotion that had the dates of all the games coming out. I thought Virtual Console was supposed to be originally launched in Summer. And now the page has changed and doesn't mention anything about the 30 cent thing. Have they scrapped it now that Virtual Console is launched fully?

I hope they didn't, I was severely looking forward to Super Metroid next month.

I was able to find the old page after a bit of searching, I didn't have it book marked and it was more difficult to find then it used to be. it still lists super metroid for may 15. Yoshi is after that and then I think their is one more game.

Because not everyone even is aware there's a 30 cent promo. Some will buy right when a game comes out, regardless of price.

Makes sense. I stand corrected. Now, the other thing I'm wondering is why are NES games filtered on HDTVs, but not Snes games. I tested this thoroughly and confirmed that this is the case. NES = filtered. Snes - not filtered. WTF?

I don't think it was anything like that, I mean, Nintendo did say that it would be exclusive to ambassadors only. If you put them up for sale for other people, all of a sudden, they're not so exclusive.

I'm pretty sure they never said it would be exclusive.

In fact we had many a shitstorm on GBATemp during that period when people got the games, gloated, then we pointed out that Nintendo did not say it would be exclusive (just free for them), then a bunch of people shit their diapers because "how dare those lowly peasants have access to buy the same stuff that a righteous ambassador got for free!??" and all that jazz.

Well, to each is own I can respect that, no worries. I was merely pointing out that it's weird that a console that has lower res than Snes is filtered when the Snes wasn't filtered. Both look fine on the game pad since they're close to native resolution.

Enjoying the VC games on the GAMEPAD. I have an iPad/emu/classic controller setup, but playing handheld on a Nintendo machine just feels so much better.

The way VC games look on the gamepad > on an HDTV. Snes games were simply not meant to be upscaled to 720p without filters. Sorry to all those purists out there, but that's the way I feel.
