It's not the digital downloads that bother me so much, as I avoid them like the plague (let's be honest, tying games to a console worries me and makes it a PITA to obtain when the console dies, and it will), but the update data that installs for a game, if you have a lot of games, and eventually, all that update data's gonna most likely screw your NAND over, regardless of the model. Yeah, it sucks. The Assassin's Creed IV update data is about 1 GB, which is pretty crazy if you think about it. I only got the white model because I already have a 500 GB HDD and I didn't want Nintendo Land, didn't interest me at all, to the 8 GB size didn't bother me, at least, initially. But if these disc updates end up being unnecessarily huge, yeah, those with that model are SOL. Only option is to go digital, so yeah, damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'll only go digital once it's tied to an account and not console, so like, never.
Or you know, turning of Standby will prevent that, that's the catch, you have to have Standby enabled for that to take effect, but that also means no quick menu.
