Hardware Wii U stopped saving data.

I've looked this topic up on google but to no avail. I brought my wii u to a party around december of last year. I loaded up my smash 4 mods and everything was fine. When i brought it back home, the names people added on there were gone. I tested around a little bit by playing all star mode and got some trophies. I then restarted my wii u and started up smash bros again. All the trophies i collected were gone. I don't really care all that much but im worried that it could affect some other games i own as well. I appreciate any help that i can get

Did you test with other games [ex.NSMB.U, SM3DW] to see if Wii U stores save to NAND? [In other words, if saves are being stored & loaded]

I just tried saving on TP. Restarted the console and the save file was still there. I then tried it again in vanilla Smash. Added a name, restarted the console, and it was still there. I guess its just one the mods itself that was the issue. Thanks for helping!
