You are all misunderstanding here. I stated I was going to stop because I'm reaaally confident that they will release their work before me.
Plus, I had already predicted this would happen a long time ago. I had the feeling that if we would ever get close that some other group would release their stuff.
In my view, the Wii U scene will be in much more capable hands with them.

If they chose not to release, or if the exploit they developed was patched before 5.5.0, I see no reason to not release my work.
However, I strongly doubt that because I had already told naerhwert where to look for the bug I'm using.
Doesn't mean that's the one being used, but only they can confirm that.

Thanks for clearing this up. A bit knee jerky. We know nothing except assumptions although it is nice to see you're not ragequitting.

Your decision is respected, we appreciate all the work you're doing for the scene. It is trully a bad move someone else work on the same thing you've been investing time on, I think it's just unproductive for the community.
But anyway, I believe your decision is in the favor of the community, good luck.

But you said you were investigating a boot exploit on top of your IOSU exploit. Does this mean that they've found a boot exploit? If not, why stop working on that? That seems like it would still be useful for things like e.g. bootmii, priiloader, etc.

Would be a shame to admit defeat if they are not being honest!

Do you still intend to follow the boot lead you were looking at? A cold boot exploit is still the most desirable thing I see going forward. Whenever the IOSU eploit is released, maintaining the viability of it seems to be the most important issue facing users. MN1 had Kernel for about a year or so now, and still folks either intentionally or unintentionally updated their systems. As long there is no permanent install, a cold boot exploit is still the best possible solution to the issue.

He said he'll release immediately if the other thing he was persuing (a bug that if exploited could allow us have a permanenet exploit) turned out to be unexploitable.

Edit : this thread could use some cleaning for useless arguing again ^^

Oh right ! Now I remember... Sorry about that. lol Thanks for clearing it up.

Sounds to me like hykem has spoken with these dudes and they told him they plan on releasing it soon.
I'm sure they will release this and keys will be "misteriously" leaked in the following days.

I'm reaaally confident that they will release their work before me.

I really hope shit gets released. we were all waiting fairly patiently and now we're all confused and worried :/
