Nope. Next to nothing important is actually in memory that isn't protected (such as IOSU stuff with keys and tickets and NAND and eMMC), and most of the filesystem is protected even from kernel (AFAIK).

Will it still be posible to play vwii on gamepad? Would like to play emus with gamepad buttons :)

That's why it's so difficult to do anything, because we have no access yet :\

"yet" being the operative word here. :)

It's like a bunch of dominos stacked on their sides, one goes over (userland) the next ones goes (kernel) which topples the next one (IOSU). Once the final castle (heh) falls, it's done. You might get a bunch of numbers on your screen that you have to type into a hex editor to generate console-specific key file(s). But when that's done there should be no technical reason not to access external WiiU-formatted storage on PC/Linux.

I'd prefer to be able to do everything offline, so there's no way for an accidental update (e.g. somebody just wanting to play a game for a bit while you're gone and they brought their friend who has a Wii U and knows how to set it so you can play onlineeeeee and oh he never set the fast boot, here I'll do that for you and standby too! You're welcome!)

Is this where I jump in line to wait for either the exploit to be released or the green light to update to 5.4.0 so I can play Splatoon online again? :)

Good to see the devs still tinkering with things here.

I can't wait for the eventual release myself, but I caved a year ago and bought a second wiiu so I could have a fully updated unit for online and a back-up for this exploit. I've been playing splatoon with my son and enjoying it alot.

I'm attempting to recreate this in python. Not in order to create a python only exploit, but to see if something similar could be done in javascript.

why do i feel the sudden urge to start singing pirate's scorn from the donkey kong country cartoon?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Are you being for real, cause that's hard to believe, DK is Nintendo and made in japan, Sea of thieves was from Microsoft, in America. I'm not calling you a liar, just didn't know.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
