I figured it was worth the extra cost considering how bad the wii situation got. Also whenever some pop up online they sell out within an hour.

I get it, but I mean they can't be in demand for that much longer, especially since a shipment from Nintendo will be arriving after Christmas as confirmed by most game stores.

Gamestop just started taking pre-orders for an adapter with four controllers bundle. The bundle is $139.95 with an expected release date is 01/02/2015.

Could they have sourced official adapters a small amount, then trying to get rid of overstock of their own brand GameCube controllers and sell it as a bundle to combat demand?

The bundle contains first-party Nintendo controllers. This isn't the first time that Gamestop has offered this bundle.

Thank god for Mayflash and their upcoming 2.0 GameCube Adapter it's going to save us all. :P

Once again third parties are doing the job that Nintendo should be handling.

Even though Nintendo uses another company to manufacture the adapters, and despite the fact there have been official statements from them indicating that they're making more as we speak. Manufacturing countless pieces of hardware doesn't magically happen overnight. Crazy, huh? Hate to burst your bubble, but, they're not going to just stop making them. People really need to calm their tits about this :creep:

Yeah... How hard is it to manufacture more? Doesn't Nintendo outsource production to Foxconn in China? It's literally one phone call and they could be making a million adapters in a day. Chinese factories are extremely efficient and quick. Only Nintendo is slow and stupid.

You're right but they've not given the public a date to go by nor put up pre-orders to guarantee they'll be getting them for that exact price.

Let's also remember that thus far comments from Nintendo of America(?) have been made public. There's AFAIK no word from Nintendo of Europe/Australia. How are they going to distribute the adapters this time?

Statement from Nintendo themselves. Adapter isn't being discontinued.

“Both the Super Smash Bros. Edition Nintendo GameCube Controller and the Adapter that connects it to the Wii U console remain in distribution in the North American region. Nintendo of America is doing everything we can to meet the strong demand for these products, and additional stock will be made available and delivered to retailers. We ask consumers to contact their local retailers directly regarding availability.”
