Hello,

I have a Wii U that gives me a error 157-9999 when booting up. It tells me to power off and try again, it gives this error code every time. I have tried to find a answer, but it doesn't seem to be a common error message?! Would appreciate any information what the problem could be😁

Thanks in advance!

Guess we need syslogs to see what's going on.

If there's a CFW running try using this:

Edit the IP at line 30 to the one of your Wii U, then uncomment line 868 ( # w.dump_syslog()) and run it from a terminal while the Wii U shows the error screen.

In case there is no CFW running you'll need https://gbatemp.net/threads/udpih-usb-host-stack-exploit-recovery-menu.613369/

Thanks for your reply!

I have the logs and got them using the recovery menu, thought it was an error with the "titles" and tried the fix with GaryOderNichts/udpih. But it didnt fix the error message.

I have attached the logs in this message, I have locked at them.... but i have no clue what to look for:/

So it's not just one gile that i corrupted. The eMMC needs to be replaced. NAND-AID can help with that.

Yeah 2012 Hynix as expected.
Use this recovery on a 64GB or larger SD to dump SLC+MLC: https://github.com/jan-hofmeier/recovery_menu/releases/tag/v0.5.0-1

Then pull power from the Wii U and only turn it on again, afte ryou replaced the eMMC (see the link from @V10lator for that)
Okey! Big thanks to both of you on my problem!

I have read the guide and I will try to see if I can do this..... But it seems a bit hard. But I will read the guide a couple of times before I try it out😁

Just one question, were do I buy the NAND-AID? Seems better to have that one over the sd-card adapter.

Yeah buying it is a little bit of a problem. You could order it from a PCB manufacturer yourself, but then you have to many, which you could sell to other users on the forum. Maybe @Lazr1026 has some left, but not sure if she will do international shipping.

Okey, if I were to use a PCB seller, where can I find the files for them to use? Will it only be the board or does it include the micro sd reader on the board as well?

Another question: If I were to try and use a sd-adapter instead, is there a guide for this? Did see the pictures, but didn't find the value for the little component in-between and we're all the wires goes to on the board.

Just added a section for this to the howto:
It's always a good idea to ask if someone near you has one. They might be willing to sell it for cheap.
Else the community is currently talking to PCB manufactureres, so we might get a large batch for cheap. In case anything works out great we will be able to sell them to you for cheap, too (current estimated price for a single PCB: $0.50).

If that doesn't work for you you can also go to some PCB manufacturer like https://jlcpcb.com and let them do the printing. This is around $30 for 5 PCBs, so you could resell 4 to other users. The gerber file is available here and the important options are a thickness of 0.6 mm and castellated holes.
Hope this helps. :)

A guide for an SD adapter is available here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-i-fixed-160-0103-system-memory-error.626448/

That component is a ceramic capacitor:
Honestly, anything between 100nF to 10uF should be just fine.
(in fact it might even be possible to use no cap at all but this hasn't been tested, so we don't recommend it).

Iam soooo thankful for the time all of you have taken to help me out😁 Its amazing the work that have been put into making the "fixes"!

I will check everything out and give it a try!
Post automatically merged:

I have looked at the post and read the process...... But couldn't find a picture were the cables from the adapter goes on the board?! Found one picture, but it's hard to see the exact point were the wires goes to. I really liked the pictures in the first guide, were a great picture of a avfärd adapter with different colors on the wires, would be great to have a picture of this connected to the main board😁

Ive only seen this now. i can do international but its probably cheaper to just get your own @ButtBoyBoris.

I have a console with no capacitor at all, theres no issues with it at all.
