Yeah it looks to have a problem in AHBPROT mode, I'll see what I can do about it in the next release. If you use a patched IOS it should work.

I recall I suggest before that it would be better to add IOS236 installer (MOD version)
to replace IOS36 patch option.

Just to make sure it is clear, my response there was referring to the problem dumping wads not with the fake sign restore.

As for the bug in fake sign restore and incorporating IOS236 installer(whatever edition), the problem with fake sign is just a small error, I'm human I make them, I made a change back in v2.1 and it had an error that went unnoticed until pretender13 pointed it out( thanks pretender13, I'll fix it in the next release). If it were working correctly however the only real difference between that bit of code and the IOS236 installer is the location it chooses to install the IOS to, that's pretty much it( maybe an extra patch or two). Now if you would like for me to look at it again, just to quadruple check nothing has been added recently that Wii Mod could benefit from, post a link to the source code and I'll do it. But I can tell you right now, before I even look again, if I were to take whatever code you link to, work to integrate it into Wii Mod I would be left with more or less a third option in fake sign restorer that is the same as the first option except it changes the install location to 236 instead of 36, I really don't see a reason to do this. Most people won't even need to use the fake sign restore menu, that's why I moved it to the Other Menu. You can already install a patched version of 36 to slot 236 using the IOS menu. It doesn't say it in big bold letters that it is a IOS236 installer because well it does more than that, it can install any Nintendo IOS, with any patch, to any slot, with any revision number. So next time you're on the IOS menu, press 2 on your wiimote and give it a whirl, its not the exact same as what fake sign restorer does in that it relies on the currently running IOS instead of downgrading IOS15 but with an IOS with correct permissions or AHBPROT mode its pretty much the same.

I decided to answer that in such detail because many have brought this up, not just airline38 and nothing against airline38. Many do not know very much about IOSs, why we even need to patch them and look at IOS236 installer and such programs as magical. When you look at most of these programs, though, they share quite a lot of the same code and mostly differ on the options they choose for you and the name they call themselves. Instead of choosing options for the user though I have tried to make Wii Mod give more of those options to the user.

@jskyboo, it's OK to leave everything as it is. The IOS236 installer (or other way) is just
one of the oprtions for users. As many people understand that as long as the WiFi
is ready, they can simply use wad manager to install whatever cIOS/program... they like
under the AHBPROT mode.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, keep it up, let me know what isn't working for you, what you would like the program to do, anything. For this new release I have a few exciting changes, first stubs are now checked against known hashes, this makes identifying them and removing them much quicker and more accurate. Also AHBPROT mode now works in any region changer and anytitle manager, fakesign installer is now fixed up proper this time and now offers the option to install the ios to 236 instead. Also lots of code clean up and general bug fixes so here is Wii Mod v2.4

Download:http://www.mediafire.com/?79755wf5vx2gxbc

Changelog since 2.3 :
Code:
Now identifies stubs by known hashes, speeds up and improves accuracy of IOS stub deleter and checkios
AHBPROT mode now works in any region changer and any title manager.
Fixed wad extract in AHBPROT mode
Fixed fakesign installer and added option to change install location to 236
Lots of code clean up, way more efficient, no more gotos

What had you been doing before trying region change? Was it from a fresh launch? Try a fresh launch, if that errors up im gonna need more details. AHBPROT is kinda temperamental especially with region changer.

I did nothing but tried this function (region change -> change language setting) after
launching . (tried twice and the result was the same)

Curiouser and curiouser, well im gonna need more details, csv output, to figure this out cause I do not see the same behavior. What did you launch wii mod from? hbc? forwarder? other? Do the other options in any region change do the same?

I tried either from HBC or from forwarder and got the same error (-1017).

Also I tried to change no matter "language setting" or "Console Area Setting"
or "Game Region Setting" and got the same error (-1017).

Of course there is no problem if I use a cIOS (EX:249) to do the same thing.

Hi I just want to say your app is great
smile.gif
& i've been using it back when it was Dop-IOS Mod. I was wondering if you have plans to make a new HBC icon for WiiMod? I know it's not priority or anything but I figured I could ask in the least. Thanks.

Im glad you like it and amazed you used my old releases. Im not much of a graphic artist so I don't really have plans to make one, I suppose I could throw one together in paint but it wouldn't be pretty. If someone cares to make an icon I will consider using it.

I tried ( no matter I set up "output IOS csv:1" or "csv:0") but
I can't find any .csv file being generated in my SD card after running
"Check IOSs". (by using v2.4)

As I recall I can get the "wiimod.csv" file in the root
directory of my SD card by using v2.0.

I moved it in 2.1 to the same location as the wad dumps( sd:/wad/wiimod/wiimod.csv ).

Hmm... Well I tried to replicate your setup but I couldn't replicate the error. I see you have region changed your Wii. What did your wii start off as? I didn't see much in your output that really stood out, you have some cios, some stubs, some out of date IOSs....the only ones im a little interested in is what do you have installed as IOS 4 and 80, they look particularly strange. Do you have just the one Wii or have you tried it on another Wii?

I set up "Game Region Setting" and "Language Setting" as "USA" on my "JPN" Wii so it shows "Region USA".

Acutally I have 2 sets of Wii. Normally I used this one to test programs because it has BootMii/Boot2.
I just tried the other one (4.2J ,same region/language setting:USA) and it's OK to change
region setting under AHBPROT (v2.4) .But I can't check its wiimod.csv (freeze at Check IOSs
screen). It's weird.........

IOS80 v16174 is a cIOS made by ModMii . It can be used on a KOR Wii to prevent
4.3K change to 4.3J or 4.3U become error 003.
