Assuming that the Smash Bros that comes to the Switch is the Wii U version but with more content (I could see Smash Run from the 3DS being added into this version), and I imagine that like MK8Deluxe it would come with all the released DLC in the game. Which fighters would you like to see added into the game? Early rumors indicate that perhaps only as much as 3 fighters will be added into the game. But I'm regarding this as more of a wishlist than what I think would realistically happen. So with that in mind, these are all the fighters I'd love to see added into the roster as it stands:

  • Ice Climbers
  • Wolf
  • Isaac (Golden Sun)
  • Inklings
  • Arms Fighters (like Bowser Jr. changing your skin would alternate between different Arms Fighters with the same moveset)
  • K. Rool
  • Mike Jones (Star Tropics, not in a huge rush to see him added as in a lot of ways he'd be similar to Ness and Lucas, but he would still have aspects that make him unique, and Star Tropics really deserves some new found love from Nintendo)
  • Young Link (but not Melee Young Link, instead based on Majora's Mask Link and they also brought back the ability to transform. So he wouldn't actually appear as Hylian Link, he'd start out as either Deku Link, Goron Link, or Zora Link, and you can transform between the 3 different forms, and then the final smash would of course have him turn into Fierce Deity Link.)
  • Banjo & Kazooie (Microsoft said they'd be willing to make a deal to let this happen, probably wouldn't but it'd be pretty awesome. If not Banjo & Kazooie, then Yooka & Laylee would be great too.)
Beyond all that I think the Switch version would probably have a few more stages and maybe a new mode or two (beyond Smash Run), it'd be pretty cool to see a new Adventure Mode, again probably not likely, but Smash adventure modes have been pretty dang fun before.

I wanted them to add Melia before, and I stand behind that opinion still. Her aura magic has potential to make her a unique fighter.

Roserade.
> A design that merges a superhero and a graceful dancer
> Thorny whips for distance attacks and grabs
> Solar Beam as a possible Final Smash
> Sludge Bomb for gradual damage via poisoning
> possibly stunning enemies with spores
> it's not f*cking everywhere unlike Pikachu, Lucario etc

Oh, the Inklings are definitely making it to the next SSB, no doubt. I expect the ARMS characters to show up too.

since its recieve a version for 3DS (again) i agree U.U

I don't think they'd release another 3DS version. I think the Switch version will actually just be its own release and not have to adhere to the rules of the Wii U and 3DS version despite having all the content of those versions. By that I mean if they wanted to bring back Ice Climbers and characters that can transform, I think they could specifically for the Switch version.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
