Hacking Where to get a firmware 4.5 or below 3DS XL?

(UK) so an ebay seller ive asked to tell me the serial on a new black/grey xl says the serials are SEH1129! according to the spreadsheet, SEH/F1153 and below are ok

I have a sealed pink 3DS XL with serial number SW1275XXXXX and a sealed blue 3DS XL with serial number SW1224XXXXX.
Will they have a system firmware of 4.5 or lower? I can only return them if unopened.

Yeah it's highly likely they will have 4.5 or lower firmware.

Got it for €167, and a charger with it for 5 euros extra. Pretty much completely worth it! I activated parental controls right before internet connection, and now I can just relaxedly browse and go online with older DS games I had around before my Gateway arrives- in other words, awesome.

You should probably Sensor the last few digits of your serial number... that's kind of important. Edit your post to what I have above.

SEH1116 is below 1153, so very likely to be under 4.5. Probably 4.4.

Yes, I'd buy without hesitation with that serial number. We have FNAC in Portugal too, and the last time I looked (like two weeks ago) they had XL's with serial numbers around SEH1143XXXX, which the Google Docs lists as "good". They probably have had them on the shelf for ages (or maybe they import them from France), because all the other stores I checked have much higher serial numbers (like SEH1205XXXX) which are not on 4.5.

Just a precautionary question. I may buy a 3ds from a friend, (not xl) and it's firmware 1.1.0, apparently. If I update that, using New Super Mario Brothers 2... I mean, that'd work right? I won't accidentally be updating to 7.2? Haha! Thanks!

Yes find a cartridge with a 4.5 OFW and you're good to go.

yeah just be sure to use the update on the cart, just go to launch the game and it will say something along the lines of "this game requires blah blah....update now?"
