Hey tempers,

I need some help/opinions on these games.

Spiderman Edge of Time - I hear the voice actings good. It's very hard to find a PAL version of this so far in local stores.
Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights - Looks interesting.
The Adventures of Tintin - Big fan of those comics long ago.
NCIS - I've read that this is quite similar to an Ace Attorney game but in 3D version. Short but good for those who like the CSI type of games.

I have read a few reviews for each game. Seen youtube video reviews and gameplays. However I find some are too critical, demanding it to be top notch which is understanding but they forget its for a handheld :/ So I'm looking for people's opinions who have played/owned these games. I've recently got my hands on Tales of the Abyss since it's so hard to get a hold of this exclusives in Australia :(

I'd appreciate if its a detailed explanation why you guys like it or not. I dislike one liners saying it sucks.

EDIT

Sorry I forgot to add that I was going to buy these games if it was worth it. That's the only reason I needed other peoples' opinions.

Hi, i will try and tell from my point of view (or what i could gather) about those games

- Spiderman - Edge of time : Forget it, get the previous shattered dimensions wayyy better!
- Lautrec : Bad reviews here 'n there i doubt they could all be biased saying it suck huhu.
- Tintin : Seems very good! I've tried a little bit the first few minutes and charmed with the art direction already.
- NCIS : Nevermind, the crew is cool but cases are way too short and just a bunch of minigames, no involvement at all! Want a real crime game? Buy old Still Life for Pc on Steam (like, not even 5$) ^^

Haha thanks for your input. Well I would take your advice for other games but I only have a laptop and a 3ds. Yeah the Tintin looked awesome just wasn't too sure if its quite worth it but that's a +1 from you so I'll keep it in mind.

they all look pretty shit....
I will ignore this as you have ignored what I've written.

They all look pretty shit because:
Spiderman edge of time: is too repetitive, and isn't as good as previous versions (I.E. Dimenstion)
Laurec: Sounds bad, can't really judge it cuz never heard of it.
Tintin: Although the movie was said to be really good, i doubt the game can be similar too. (most games that are based of movies suck-alot)
NCIS: games like this n a console seem like a waste, and don't apply any thnking. Seems easy.

.....happy....-.-

You've just rated four games that you've never played and one that you've never heard of. Ha.

GBATemp, folks.
Laurec:I got this game right now , tho I only just started and have not look at reviews, I like the game from overall game,gameplay,3d,characters,story to Art.

There is ghosting in some area when 3d set on high, but those disappear or become less of a bother at 1/2
for people who really can't stand ghosting. I like the feeling that I'm actually staring at a the building from a far.

While I think the game has influence from Layton and maybe even Phoenix Wright, (I say this because I seen a name there that I seen in Phoenix, but maybe the name is common)
I think the game has quite the originality to be more then dash out as a Layton clone. I read a post on this forum that the puzzles are easier than Layton. but so far I only found the
puzzles different then Layton.

Like I say, I have not play the whole game, but I don't think it going to be short.

I recommend it from what I seen so far and I didn't really see the beef if reviewers are giving it bad scores.
I know shouldn't be saying this until I finish the game, but I hope more people buy this to show support
for the game so it can be possibly continue and expand on.

Yeah I got the similar read from other reviews saying that about the games. Just hoping one of them were like a gem or something lol I can't tell if Lautrec is good or not still. I'm certain the Ace Attorney series were pretty much straightforward as the CSI and IF the NCIS game is like that then I don't mind. I'm still quite drawn to Tintin but I'd wait for more replies about it. Yeah I'm slowly inching away from Spiderman Edge of time as I can see its repetitive bashing and the similar backgrounds.

Thanks for clarifying why you see them as "shit" lol

@kthnkshwn - This is just what I can draw from critics' reviews and I agree although I've never played them, I asking you guys what you think of them to help me decide to buy them or not. Like I said before, I don't know if some, one, or none are gems or not. I'd like to have a line up of games to play during these holidays

@KingVamp - Thanks for your input. I saw some videos showing the main character moving around in the caves and doing puzzles. Is it like somewhat a rpg/puzzle thing or purely more of a Ghost Trick type of game? Let me know what you think of it when you finish the game (lol I'm guessing this will take you some time haha)

Well without finishing the game, it feels more like a rpg/puzzle... thing.
I'm guessing you thinking Ghost Trick because of some of the artwork, but I didn't think it like Ghost Trick at all.

Spiderman Edge of Time - I feel with every Spiderman game its all the same, They get repetitive quite fast and its the same deal every time. Personally I think give this a miss.
Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights - Can't give you a opinion on this as I actually don't know anything about it :/
The Adventures of Tintin - I am a big Tintin fan. Read the comics, watched the movie, play the games, I love it haha. I definetly recommend it, however I'm rather biased to it BECAUSE I am a fan.
NCIS - Isn't my time of game. I always feel like they are a bunch of mini games colab'ed together in order to MAKE a game. Probably a good game for a fan of the series however

Hmm interesting...it's funny how these games have been out for a while and not many seem that interested :/ I keep this title in mind when the price drops with the next bunch of games coming out next month or so. I'm on the fence for this game.

Someone forgot to mention Mario Mart 7..okay I'll say it Mario Kart 7 FTW!!

Haha that's a no brainer. As fun as it is, I got no one to game it with and I'll wait til it drops down in price later.

Alrighty you guys got me on the Spiderman. I'll give it a miss then since everyone that has commented on it, said similar things. Dammit! If a Tintin fan has said that then the game shall be in my hands soon! I miss those comics and I'm unsure if I've read it all. Seems like each library I've been to has one or the other missing from the series. Back on topic, that's how you saw the NCIS game? Hmm shame... it looked interesting.

There are tons of DS games that are still full price. Typically any big brand nintendo title.
I think I saw Mario Party DS and Mario Kart still rocking their original launch prices. I know I saw a few, just forgot specifically what.

You're guessing and assuming a whole lot in that post. Which really isn't much help in this situation. You'd be better off not postcount+ing and just find another thread.

yeah lautrec is "interesting" only played a short while cuz i want to beat Tales of the Abyss first but yeah at least in the beginning you have some "rpg" elements with fighting which is done by some sort of "spirits/curses" on treasures you find in the game and the puzzle ellements are like layton different puzzles more or less hard ...

Don't worry, I wasn't speaking about you. I would offer my opinion on these games if I had played them or had time to sit down with them, but that didn't stop 310301288

You do know that titles like MK7 NEVER drop in price right?
ie. SSBB, MKWII.

For some odd reason I keep thinking MK7 is like some new Mortal Kombat game for the 3DS and I always stop myself at the google page thinking "oh wait... its Mario Kart" =.="
Well what I have what I have looked around for, local stores go for the high $59 to a low $40s online so... *shrugs* I don't know what to say here lol This is for the Mario series released I've seen so far.

Haha that's a no brainer. As fun as it is, I got no one to game it with and I'll wait til it drops down in price later.
Don't hold your breath...

Haha I won't. I prioritize what I want to get. I know they are popular and it won't budge for quite some time and neither will my wallet for these games yet! :P

Yeah I see them a lot. Then I look at the store name...I realise that stores that don't really specialise in the gaming section don't give a crap and it's mostly for the older generation who have nieces, nephews, grandchildren, sons, daughters, and they get suckered into buying it without knowing any better. I walk into the more specialised stores and I do see them drop their price. Mainly to get rid of excess stock.

Oh right. I feel silly justifying myself lol I thought you were referring to what I wrote. All good, it's alright 310301288 (such an unsual name isn't it?) gave his input and I take his view from those who haven't experienced such games and I'm guessing most PR/marketing companies do the same thing which result in us getting bloody shovelware >.< I'll wait to see if any other tempers are willing to share their experiences with the games I've mentioned. I would look at that stickied thread but that doesn't really help me in this case. So far I will get Tintin. Borderline with Lautrec. Spidey is a sad no. NCIS is an aww because I need some kind of Ace Attorney fix LOL cant play the series again after playing it through 10+ times.
