Hacking What to do? Want to play Pokemon Ultra Sun but must update?

So I bought Ultra Sun, but when I click it, it asks me to update my system to 11-4.0-35U, but doing that will remove Homebrew. I run Soundhax on a N3DS, and don't know much about Homebrew. Mainly use it for genning pokemon.
I've heard Homebrew will go away if you update, and its harder to get it back? If so, how would I get it back exactly. I know I can just play it through the region lock player, but that requires me to go into homebrew every time, and I might accidentally update if I forget to open homebrew instead.

How exactly would I get Homebrew back, if I were to update? Just do the same thing as getting it the first time? Appreciate the help.

So i just bought the game today. And cant open it too with updating. Im a 11.3 version and has a soundhax homebrew. So i tried to open it tru homebrew "hans". I can also get online using ctr-httpwn then opening it tru hans again. Im using cartridge. Hope this will help ypu too.

hello,i'm new here and i found the same prolem i want to update to B9s but i'm scared to do something wrong,i have an old 3ds xl running emunand 11.3.0-36 U the guide says:

"if you have a EmuNAND based CFW setup, this guide deals exclusively with SysNAND and you should follow all instructions from within or applying to SysNAND"

SO do i have to turn to Sysnand or follow the guide with Emunand

Do what the guide says and do the steps in sysNAND. You'll be able to flash your emuNAND to your sysNAND later in the process to keep your data. If you're using menuhax, uninstall it before beginning (just change your theme in sysNAND).

please tell me when do i have to create a nand backup,and when i do do i have to backup emunand or sysnand it's a bit confusing and i don't want to make any mistake

i have a 3ds that used to run gateway but forgot how to boot it (it used menuhax or something) so i think i installed a different cfw but for the life of me, i cant remember (bloody chemo since i did it over a year ago).

ive gone to install pokemon ultra sun using fbi installer and it prompts me to do a firmware update to play the game.

now i am not sure what the latest is on the 3ds, what firmwares are supported and i dont even remember what cfw i put on, the system is on 9.2.0-2
