Good afternoon, folks.

So three years ago I found myself using Vuze as a torrent client, and it was extremely neat because of the search bar at the top which you could add torrent sites to search from. I eventually stopped using it, however, because it was eating up my CPU. It was really heavy to run.

Last 2 years I've been using uTorrent. It's lightweight and very straightforward, but there's one thing I cannot stand about it: If a download is complete and I move it elsewhere, I will not be able to seed since the file is not in the directory it downloaded it to. This is natural, but it bothers me that there is absolutely no way to locate the file for uTorrent so it can resume seeding normally. The same can be said for moving the contents mid-download.

So, I'm looking for the absolute best torrent client, and I'm curious to see what you guys have been using. My criteria for the ideal torrent client is:
  • Lightweight (doesn't eat up my CPU)
  • Doesn't barrage me with ads
  • Free
  • Supports moving files mid-download or when seeding (by manually locating the file when asked)
  • Displays seed/leech info
  • Shows download speed and estimated time left
Feel free to discuss and share. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: It was a bit silly of me not mentioning that I am using Windows 7, so here we are.

I tried uTorrent but it was full of ads and all that, wasting my data for no reason at all. Was there an earlier build of uTorrent without all these ads since I been using build 7.6 of BitTorrent for a few years now.

Although I switched from utorrent to Tixati a while ago. I'd say just use utorrent like everyone else.

@Lucifer666:
well, it's looking you have been crushed by Utorrent especially because the problems you listed are non-existent.
Both problems you listed can be solved by 2 (right) clicks on the torrent file.
P2P like all other programs comes with an help file.
If you are too lazy to check that out or to try yourself, you will not find another client that do that for you.

I tried uTorrent, after BitTorrent introduced its ads, but I noticed no differences other than a color change and name change. Wait, except for one big point I didn't like: magnet links refused to load in uTorrent. I had to manually copy/paste addresses from magnet links to get the torrent program to do anything about them.

So I went back to BitTorrent, which does it just fine.

Although uTorrent is still the recommended one, developers keep adding ads to it. If you can get used to text-based client rTorrent is pretty simple.
