Thanks! Much appreciated. Though I don't want to lose out on the ability to update my Wii U, would that be a problem?
Well that all depends what Nintendo does in the update.

The past few updates have been fine to update your Wii U without it affecting the vWii softmod, but we never know.
Always check here before updating in the future.

I think I'm going to go for it. Does the vwii play every wii game that the wii can play with dx2?

For example Metroid Prime Trilogy.

You're referring to backups from an HDD right? If so, yes, all the games I've tested on USB Loader GX/CFG USB Loader work just fine. Just make sure your HDD has enough power from USB (if it's USB powered, get a USB Y-cable to draw from both back USB ports).

Thanks for all the advice guys! I've always wondered, would a class 10 microsd card in an SD card adapter be just as good for my backups as an external hdd?

I think I'm rather going to use a flash drive. I'll check the HDD compatibility list. Will that give me a message to format in WII U mode? If so then maybe the Mircosd card is the way I'll go. Probably a sandisk 8gb ultra microsd card. Class 10 I believe.

Haha that's what I was thinking, just glad to have confirmation! I like to plan it out properly before diving in :P

So what SD card do you recommend? Or should a microsd in an sd adapter work just as well? I don't have that many backups so I doubt I'll need 128gb or whatever. How do the sd cards speeds compare vs a usb?

Well i find that microsd with adapter works and USB is slightly faster then SD for wii games but GC games the SD is better

Thanks, I'll go the HDD route. Do you know where I can find a tutorial for formatting or making a partition on the HDD for the vwii?

Makes it easy for incompetent restaurant staff that don't know how to hear an order

Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.

Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.

Most people that haul big tvs have empty trucks or know enough not to set it face down

Then I gotta send it back and wait another week or two. I have a pickup truck, with a extended cab, so no prob for me.
