it should be the "wiilight" option which operate the blinking feature.
it has nothing to do with cIOS, it's an option in the loader.

Oh, and it's not on the "feature menu" that you set wiilight for emuNAND, it's in the Settings>loader's settings and in the individual game's settings.
The option in "feature" is managing the lights while inside the loader (when inserting a disc, when dumping a disc, etc.)

the options "while playing" or "affecting the games" are always located in "game settings".

Edit:
I checked the sources and didn't see any wiilght option in the games.
sorry, maybe I forgot about it.
I always had it off and never had blinking light as far as I remember.

I'm pretty sure d2x always flashes the slot light when it's redirecting NAND saving. I've never found a way to turn it off.

Yes, it's a feature of the cIOS, not NEEK's kernel. There might be a way to turn it off, I just don't know what it is.

My Wii isn't even visible when I'm playing it. The console and HDD are behind my TV. :)

I see an option for LED_ACTIVITY in the d2x source but it's a define flag so if that's it then the cIOS modules would have to be recompiled.

lol good idea, I thought this is could be a prob in future, thats why Id like to "disable" that :/

btw, this is my 1st time using emunand on USB Loader, so all the saves go to Wii or to EmuNand?

With "full" they will get saved to the EmuNAND folder. Nobody can decide what "partial" does exactly. :)
Got it, so what folder will be in? how can I locate those save files? (I dont found them when using save game manager) :/
anyway if when its set as "FULL" will be saved to the EmuNAND, what Neek does then? bc I liked neek better than Full (bc lights flashing and its even better to play games that full does not. also what about Nand Saves Emulation mine is set as "OFF"

Are the songs listed individually in the SD menu ? like they are individual channels which can be moved to the internal memory ?
or are they a single data of 200 songs that you can only move to internal in a single action ? (and songs managed from the game)
OR are the game the only way to move songs to internal and SD menu can't be used to move DLC to internal menu?

just try joostinOnline tools and see if it detects your DLC and can pack it to wad. then install the wad to your emuNAND.
They're all in a folder in .bin format. I can't find joostinonline tools. Seem to be having a bit of a noob moment today. Do you have a link?

ah, that's maybe because I use v8 and it's probably disabled.
v10 is not useful, it's the exact same as v8 with only a little fix for HDD detection. if v8 works, there's no need to install v10.
the only improvement of v10 is "v10-alt" to enable USB Port1, but that shouldn't be used in my opinion, unless really required. it's harder to setup and make things work with dual HDD.

try v8 if you don't want wiilight.

yes we do know.

EmuNAND Save : OFF
everything is stored and accessed on realNAND (default mode)

EmuNAND save : Partial
Wii disc game's savegames are stores on emuNAND.
Mii are still loaded from realNAND.
Settings are still loaded from realNAND.
Wiimote syn are still loaded from realNAND.

EmuNAND Save : Full
Wii disc game's savegames are stores on emuNAND.
Mii are stores on emuNAND.
Settings are stores on emuNAND.
Wiimote syn are stores on emuNAND.

EmuNAND Channel : Full
default mode. if you run a channel on emuNAND, you need to access all the data from that emulated NAND.
You can't (or shouldn't) use partial for launching a channels located on emuNAND.
I always said I'll remove that option but haven't done it yet.

Channel's savegames are stores on emuNAND.
Mii are stores on emuNAND.
Settings are stores on emuNAND.
Wiimote syn are stores on emuNAND.

EmuNAND Channel : partial
Well, even if NOT recommended, this is what will happen:
Savegame redirected
channel data redirected
Wiimote not redirected
settings (region, etc.) not redirected (you DON'T want that)
system and hidden channels not redirected (though, you shouldn't need them)
System folder which contains list of authorized channels to be launched (You DON'T want that, unless you have ALREADY installed the channel you want to play in the past on that console, which retains its information in the tmd). If you try to play a game installed on emuNAND with Partial and never installed it on realNAND, it will not be allowed to be launched and you will more likely be greeted with system error. I don't know if the Wii will create it on real NAND automatically at launch or not.

Technical information :
according the the sources, d2x is redirecting this :

NEVER :
/tmp/launch.sys

Partial :
/title/00010000/ (wii disc game saves)
/title/00010001/ (eshop channels data + eshop channel savegames)
/title/00010004/ (special channels, disc game savegame with channel installed on NAND : mario kart, wiifit, rabbids, etc.)
/title/00010005/ (DLC)

/ticket/00010001/ (tickets for channels)
/ticket/00010005/ (ticket for DLCs)

/import (used when installing a title)
/sys/disc.sys (info about currently inserted disc)

Full :
everything else starting with "/" except /dev folders (i.e. virtual devices), thought /dev/fs is probably emulated, this is the one responsible for redirected NAND access.
everything else means the wii settings, wiimote synch, network settings, Mii, etc.

Not redirected while in partial :
/sys/uid.sys, which according to wiibrew is used to give titles access to their "data" directories.
I don't know how needed it is for emuNAND channel, but it's not redirected when using partial.
Maybe uid.sys is emulated/bypassed by d2x.

/title/00000001/ (IOS, system menu, tmd, message board, playlog ), though I think it will never reload IOS from emuNAND. IOS reload is probably blocked and reloads cIOS with the same emuNAND mode.
/title/00010002/ (system channels, weather, vote, etc.)
/title/00010008/ (hidden channels, eula)

/ticket/00000001/ (IOS, system menu, tmd, message board, playlog )
/ticket/00010002/ (system channels)
/ticket/00010004/ (special channels)
/ticket/00010008/ (hidden channels)

/shared2/ (contains all the wii settings, mii, etc.)

v8 doesn't work with my HDD enclosure. v10 does. :)

I haven't looked at the d2x source that much and it's mostly undocumented. That is a bit odd that it doesn't redirect the settings.

I can't get Prince of Persia - The Forgotten Sands to work with USB Loader GX, always black screen on start up, anybody got this game to work?
go to individual game setting and disable all patches, disable return to, etc.

Hey Guys, i dont found any save files on Sneek so where in emunand these saves are in??
saves for channels are stored in the same folder than the channel (I listed the folder on my post above)

/title/00010001/<titleID>/
there are usually two folders inside, one is data/ (for the channel data, executable, etc.), the other one is the savegame.

v8 doesn't work with my HDD enclosure. v10 does. :)

oh, I guess you benefit from the very small changes from v8 to v10. I don't remember what it was.
I didn't read a lot of the d2x sources, so I don't know if there are still room for improvement or fixes. (fixing USB instruments maybe).
Davebaol was the only one doing all the work after waninkoko left, he knew it well but he is no more here.

I know only how to recompile and add full debug mode (to log all FS/ES access, etc.)
that will probably be needed to debug the HDD detection issue on vWii. but I don't know how to compile for wii/vWii, probably a define to edit.

Hmm, it looks like Davebaol is still somewhat alive. He committed something to libgdx on July 30th so he might be contactable via Github. :)

I was about to throw my Wii out of the window as I seemed to have installed everything needed to play my backups. I got a black screen every time I tried to boot a game. I changed from usb slot 0 to 1 and removed my gamecube controller from slot 1(Not sure if it matters?) And now it works! Thanks to a great community! All the previously posts made it possible. Thanks to all! :)

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:

  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
