Hacking usb hdd not found

I just modded my friends wii 3.4u with modmii. but the hard drive wont load up on the wii. its a seagate go 230 or 300 :x
tried 3 portable hard drive none of them load.

what loader are you using?

did you also run through the USB loader setup in Modmii?

You have connected the HDD to the Lower USB Port ??

Try a thumbdrive (they need lower power), and see how that goes.

What format is the drive?? FAT32/NTFS/WBFS ??

my mistake its a 4.3u. im going to check if everything installed okay. when i put in a usb drive it stayed on a splash image. before it would just crash back to the wii menu.
