Allllright, I'm on USBLoader GX and I'm trying to load some WBFS wii games. I used the Wii backup manager to convert them, so the file names should be right. They're in a wbfs folder that's on the root of my SD card. I open the GX Loader and click the select title sources tab and see "Wii games" is unchecked. I click it and immediately get the message "USB device not initialized. Switching to channel list mode." What do?

UPDATE: Tried it on a 8gb flashdrive and it kind of works. It still won't read any wii games on the SD card, but reads the one on the flash drive. I try and play the one on the flash drive, and it kicks me back to the HBC.

USB Loader GX does not load wii games from SD only USB you will have to use CFG USB Loader or Wiiflow if you want to load your Wii games from SD.

Alright! Got WIIflow on there now. I see all my wii games, but when I try to open one, I get a quick flash of the wiiflow logo, the Wii U buzzes and burrs, then the wiimote disconnects and I get a permanent black screen.

Do you have d2x cios's installed? also, wii is very picky when it comes to sd cards, it has to be a regular sd, no micro sd, and SanDisc is the most compatible

maybe one day I'll change that message to "WARNING : You don't have a cIOS. you need to install a cIOS to play wii games".
I might change the way the loader is booting (maybe check multiple slots at launch)
I should set a new working environment to develop that loader again.

if you want an alternative to Wiiflow, but still play games from SD, then you have CFG Loader.
Maybe even Post loader, but I never tried it so I'm not sure about its capabilities and features.

oh, for anyone finding this thread because they want SD card support :
don't use d2x v9 or d2x v10-alt (r53), it's not working with SD.
some game will not like SD anyway (kirby), so you should still consider an USB device. (not flash drive, I meant USB hdd)

    ewww key shops...
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Why do you really want to use key shops nowadays? You're not really paying towards the companies who provided the keys, plus its very sketchy.
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
https://gg.deals/game/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night/ - I rather use the proper shops, but here are Key shops shown as well. They tell you the risks as well with each shop

One of the keyshops is 95% off at the moment (probably humble bundle keys)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
And a small percentage of keys bought with a stolen credit card.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
You never know if the key works or not, they don't provide a guarantee.
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
Sure is... and poor devs get hit with the charge backs

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Exactly.
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
Thor from "Pirate Software" said its just better to pirate the game than buy from a keyshop if you care about the devs

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
devs don't get hit with the chargebacks, the keys are free to generate
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    at least on steam
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
Except he said the DEVS get hits with the chargeback cost
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
since the key gets bought with a stolen credit card
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
there's nothing to charge back because the keys don't cost them money to generate in the first place
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If the game has a crack sure
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Most these crack sites have dead links anymore or the crack don't even work
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
@The Real Jdbye What don't you get? If someone use a stolen creditcard. Then sell said key on G2A. If I the dev sold the game key, I will get the charge back cost. That's how it works, it doesn't matter if I generate 300 keys if 300 of them are bought with stolen credit cards. I never said it was on Steam, but its the dev that gets hit. There is a ton of stories out there if you google it.
