You mentioned that OOThax has a 100% bootrate. My coworker has a homebrewed 3DS and we're trying OOTHax, but it still boots out when I hit the Ocarina in the haxxxxx file.I'm not entirely sure if this is true, but I think you can have a 100% boot rate like OOThax if you have a second 3DS with homebrew.
That's because you need to manually inject the payload with FBI. @Sonic Angel Knight wrote a nice guide on how to do it:You mentioned that OOThax has a 100% bootrate. My coworker has a homebrewed 3DS and we're trying OOTHax, but it still boots out when I hit the Ocarina in the haxxxxx file.
Did you make sure your using the right files for the system? Yes, each one is for new 3ds and old 3ds.
Start by doing this
For step 5 Please note there are 3 folders, USA EUR JAN Inside is NEW OLD folders. Use the one that represents your setup. For example i use a USA OLD so i would use that, But depending on the system and country you are, it may be different. Check system menu for what system you have
- Insert Legend of zelda Ocarina of time into your system.
- Start the game and hold A,B,X,Y
- A menu to format the system will load upon boot, proceed to confirm format game card.
- Download this archive.https://gbatemp.net/attachments/oot3dhax_11_0-zip.54167/
- *Extract the archive that reperesents your setup and put the files in the folders on to the sd card with cfw (Homebrew enabled)
- Use the latest version of FBI installer 2.3.2 Or the SVDT (I used fbi) And inject the "SAVE00.BIN" And "PAYLOAD.BIN" Files to the game card. Leave the system.bin, it belongs there.
- Download the homebrew starter pack from here. https://smealum.github.io/ninjhax2/starter.zip
- Extract the contents and put it on the sd card. Make sure the "BOOT.3DSX" file is on the root of the sdcard (Not iniside any folders) And that there is a 3DS folder on there too (DO not confuse with "NINTENDO 3DS Folder, as they both serve different Purposes)
- Insert game card into the any 3ds with firmware 11.0.0-33, and proceed to load the save file hax as normal and press A button.
- WELCOME TO THE HOMEBREW
By looking at the firmware version (Mine is 11.0.0-33-U) the letter will tell you what region your system is.
USA = U (NTSC-U)
EUR = E (PAL-E)
JAP = J (NTSC-J)
In addition to the system the old and new ones are as followed.
Old = Nintendo 3ds, Nintendo 2ds, Nintendo 3ds XL
New = NEW Nintendo 3ds, NEW Nintendo 3ds XL
This should be obvious and not needed to be explained but why not?
Thanks. We got basehaxx working, but that "hardware randomization" is annoying. We'll see about getting OOT for that perfect rateThat's because you need to manually inject the payload with FBI. @Sonic Angel Knight wrote a nice guide on how to do it:
Glad I could help.Well, it turns out we were doing it wrong in-game. I was just hitting the Ocarina.
So aside from the occassional freeze, it so far does have a perfect boot rate.

Me too.Glad I could help.
Thanks. When I first read about OOT, it said open the ocarina or "do anything to trigger anything". So I just hit Ocarina. It boots me out. But if I just hit A to check Link's bed, perfect (minus the one freeze)Glad I could help.
Is not my place to say this but i do not advise against buying games mainly for exploit purposes, only buy games cause you like it. It severly alters the value of the game with the Supply and demand for it.Opinion: Now that I have OOThax, do I have any reason to keep around Cubic Ninja? It's been less than a week, I could probably get my $30 back. Or at least store credit for a better game.
And I have learned my lesson. My question is if there's still any hack-related merit to keeping Cubic Ninja when I already have a working entry into Homebrew Launcher.Is not my place to say this but i do not advise against buying games mainly for exploit purposes, only buy games cause you like it. But that is my opinion, since is your game and you have right to do with it whatever you want.
How did you lose it?How can I get my R/B/Y saved data back, on a 11.0 n3DS via homebrew? Is it possible?
Just keep it, you could need it someday, or find it a new home to someone who will need it.And I have learned my lesson. My question is if there's still any hack-related merit to keeping Cubic Ninja when I already have a working entry into Homebrew Launcher.
Edit: Oh, you're the guy whose guide finally got me into OOTHax properly. Thank you for that.
How did you lose it?
You have any back ups?It happened when I devised my memory cards because of the stupid 300 limit on games/apps and then one day, it said that on all 3 games.
Well i dunno what the issue is, How are your backups made? Are they a copy of the contents of the "Nintendo 3DS" Folder on your sd card Or done using some homebrew save manager?They still show that message, even when I delete them from the 3DS and re-add the ones from my PC. It's bullshit that Nintendo and Game Freak had to be so stupid over this issue.
