Haven't updated anything on my 3DS in a while. Went to boot Universal Updater. It wouldn't load and crashed. Hmm. Looks like there's been a new Luma release. I didn't feel like pulling out my SD Card so I tried using the Luma Updater to update it. This updater crashed too, so I pretty much had to pull my SD card and manually copy the file to the SD card and then like I thought, Universal Updater worked. Great!
I read on a random forum post that LumaUpdater is dead because of Universal Updater superseded it.
However, one thing that Luma did was it gave you to option to Press A+X to copy the latest fw version to your CTR-NAND and keep that up to date as well if you booted your system without the SD in it. I guess this isn't as important anymore these days since Nintendo doesn't update the 3DS as it once was, but it still was a nice feature to have if my SD card randomly fails.
Does Universal Updater do this as well? Or does it only copy the boot.firm to the SD card?
