Homebrew Trimming ROMs...

My friend told me trimming ROMs can and will usually mess up the WiFi portion of the game and not let you use it, but are there any other effects? Because I'll just trim all my Single Player ROMs if that's the case. Thanks.

I have trimmed all my roms and I havent met any downside at all...
Not in SinglePlayer not in Multiplayer

The trimmable space at the end of a rom isn't usually part of the filesystem so i can't see why it'd effect the game at all. Personally i've trimmed all my roms using my own trimmer (DSAccuTrim) and had no problems at all so far.

Any problems ROMs have with download play are because of the flashcard, not the trimmed ROM.
