You can use PkHex.There's no other way because Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. ONLY read original Pokémon games, not hacked/modified Pokémon games, unless the hackrom have the same Title ID as the Original Pokémon. but remember fix the invalid status to prevent ban when you're using the pokémon online!

Yeah, because they're rom hacks, for example:

Pokémon Prism remplaces Metapod with Shinx. So, if you transfer it using PkHex to Pokémon Sun... Surprise! It's a metapod! just with illegal attacks! like Spark, Charge, Bite, Roar, etc.
To prevent got banning from SuMo, just modify it like if it was like "legal" Pokémon.

How do you transfer pokemon from gen 2?

PkHeX has at least basic support (ie, Pokemons themselves) for every generation, so you literally drag them out of one save and into a newer generation's one

(or somewhere in the menus there's a "database" option if you want to bulk transfer all of them)

won't get me transfer from gen 2 it says cannot convert pk2 to pk7
