So the other day, I'm browsing through some anime torrents, looking for more anime to download (as if I don't have enough). I was mainly looking for anime in 720p. While I'm browsing, I stumble upon this:

Cardcaptor Sakura (Remastered) [720]

Holy shit. This has to be a joke, right?

Wrong.

Apparently, a remastered version of Cardcaptor Sakura was released on Bluray. I didn't know that. Needless to say, I immediately downloaded it, and watched the first episode.

It's so glorious.

Sure, it doesn't look as good as certain anime do today. But hey, this was released a few years back. My only peeve with it is that it's not in widescreen format... that's my biggest pet peeve ever when it comes to anime. But still, it's Cardcaptor Sakura. I'm not gonna be picky.

I remember watching this show Monday to Friday at 4:30PM. I watched it religiously, and so did a lot of other kids in my class. Those were the best days of my life, man. I was going to a great school, had tons of friends, lived in a really nice house with my mom, stepdad, and sister. Pokemon games were all the rage, and were actually good. Those were the days.

And so, I think I will be watching this show again during my summer break.

Some comparison shots of the Coalgirls encode/CoalSakura subs:
Blu-Ray
DVD

Never really watched it myself... I think. I might have saw an episode when I was younger. I know it's a classic so I might pick it up one day.

I downloaded the BD(up until episode 8) and relieved....2007 in which I saw the entire 70 episodes in 2 weeks during my military service, I was some sort of IT guy meaning I had so much free time (something broke once in a couple of days).

I'm assuming he meant Sakura, since that's the name of the protagonist.

Also, Cardcaptor Sakura is an awesome show. For a magical girl anime, it had a great premise, lots of action, and a cute story, which is more than pretty much any other magical girl anime can say.

It is an amazing show about a young girl coming to terms with her womanhood; it's beautiful and so full of deep imagery that it doesn't surprise me to find that it has gone way over your head.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.

Free release can have loopholes where they still make money through ads
