Hacking Theme's for USB Iso Loader GUI by dimok,nIxxx,cyrex et al :P

I used Terrulin's black theme v4 for widescreen, and although my Wii settings are set to widescreen, the theme's buttons still look like tall ovals. I know they're supposed to look like circles, but for some reason they don't. Here's a picture:

Really weird, it looks normal on my screen, the 4x3 one looks like big fat ovals =/

the only thing I can think of is to make sure you have the
wtheme_path = SD:/mytheme/ (or the theme folder you use)
config.txt instead of theme_path = blah blah
also config.txt needs to be in your SD:/config/ folder
hopefully that helps

as a side note i cant wait until i can move the battery stuff so i can put it at the top where it belongs and move the bgoptions down

I got the Gray-wave theme from the download site, and I guess maybe I don't know fully how to get it working the right way. I got as far as linking it in my config.txt (wtheme_path = SD:/wtheme/graywave/) and it does load, but the font color for the games remains black while the website shows white text for better visibility. Everything else I think works although, maybe not.

Secondly, I have a config.txt that has sample #codes, but when you remove the # and try some like savesettings=1, or parentalcontrol=0, I cannot get them to work. I must be doing SOMETHING wrong, but what? Basically I was looking to save the AB121B setting so I don't have to enter that again, and maybe change some things, but I guess I don't know how to do this properly. Any help would be great!

that config.txt is for the ultimate loader, those options will be in the loader eventually, but as of right now its still a WIP as there has been no official release, we are basically working with "open alpha" since we aren't even at a beta stage of near feature completeness

Well thats basically how i have mine, except in a different folder. Only thing I can say is if that looks too thin, you can try the 4x3 one and maybe it looks normal ?

EDIT:
Ok i see what happened to you, I just updated to the latest version, and the new code hungry put in automatically corrects images when moved to widescreen. So they look perfectly round when using the 4x3 version icons. Which to be honest, makes them almost identical, except some coordinates are going to be different. So once I get those corrected, Ill reupload them again

An added side benefit to this is you can use your normal 4x3 covers and they look normal on widescreen

Thanks for that very useful info - didn't know that! Any idea about the text color in the graywave theme or any other theme - and what control or setting manipulates that?

My favorite part is the pointers, and they wont even work until the code is updated to support using them =/

Ohh and after retesting everything, Hungry's new code in the loader basically automatically converts a 4x3 to a 16x9. So my 4x3 looks exactly like the 16x9 used to look. I just had to add a w in front of the background name. But I am posting the new rar to the first page as we speak, and ill go ahead and get one on the theme site as well.

EDIT:
The theme site had an error taking the first one, so if deakphreak sees this could you remove the broken v5 one, as well as all the older versions of that theme then that would be great =)

Terrulin, you made a mistake with your latest version. In order for the background to be widescreen, you have to add a wbackground.png to the folder. I just copied and pasted the original background and renamed it to that and now it looks perfect

I can re-archive it. I can easily add .7z to the site, but for the sake of keeping things the same, I am allowing .rar and .zip to be uploaded.

Ive modified the look of the site to try and match the Wii theme, but the heading still doesnt look that great with that crappy looking font. If anyone wants to re-do that for me, be my guest.

hmmm i guess i rar'd the wrong folder
i have a copy on the SD card, and a copy of it on the pc (and another with the original editable files) and i must have done the wrong one. Either way both background.png, and wbackground.png are identical, so you basically have the same file i was using =)

and so that i dont contribute clutter to deakfreak's site, if you see this post would you mind replacing the bad rar there with this one ?
