Gaming Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call (EU) error on US 3DS

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call (Europe) come with FW 7.1E.

My US 3DS's emunand FW is on 7.1U. But i still get an "Error has occured, please turn off your system"-message when i try to run the rom, why? Please, just don't say: Update your emunand to 9.x. This may solve the problem, but i still would like to know why this error message appears.

Does anyone know?

uhm, what gateway version are you using? and are other 7.x encrypted games working for you?
is the game a rom or a retail cartridge?

Thanks for taking your time... but i guess i know the reason: First i thought, maybe the trimming has damaged the rom, but it also dosen't work untrimmed. I tried to open it with 3dsexplorer, and the programm directly reportet an error, i guess, the rom is just broken. I'll redownload it and try again. And yes, other 7.x encrypted games are working, because of that i were wondering.
