I found this of interest, (ripped from the press release on Nintendo.com):

Starting Sept. 1, Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors will be able to download 10 NES™ Virtual Console™ games at no charge and before they are available in the Nintendo eShop to the general public. These games, including Super Mario Bros.™, Donkey Kong Jr.™, Balloon Fight™, Ice Climber™ and The Legend of Zelda™, are slated to become paid downloadable games, but Ambassadors get them early for free. Once the paid versions of the games are posted to the Nintendo eShop later in the year, the updated versions will be available to Ambassadors for download at no cost.

Notice near the end where it states that "Updated" versions of these games will be free for ambassadors when they are released to the public. What exactly do they mean by "Updated" I wonder? Are these games scheduled to become 3D Classics perhaps?

Then they wouldn't be Virtual Console.

OK, So what does it mean then? Are we getting beta versions or something? Why would we have a need to download "updated" versions later otherwise?

EDIT: Well I called Nintendo to find out. They put me on hold for like 10 minutes haha. I guess almost nobody there knew, but they asked 1 person who had some information. They told me that we aren't getting completely "full" versions of these games at first. I don't know if it will be demos, or just incomplete versions, but that's what the "updated" was all about. We will eventually have to download the "final" version of the games once they are actually released.

They probably mean "updated" as in free. This is possible, as previously the say "paid versions" when referring to the versions they are to sell.

I read that the update versión would be a multiplayer version, at first the embassador will get the normal one player version, later in the update Nintendo will include a multiplayer version, which teh ambasador will download for free...

If they include Ruby and Sapphire, they'd better make it capable of multiplayer. Or else I will be raging.
Some of the GBA/NES games they're offering are confirmed to have multiplayer.

So it's totally possible.

Kirby's Nightmare In Dreamland
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga (I played this game to DEATH)
Wario Ware Twisted (if they did this I would love you nintendo even more

The should add The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, seeing as it's the 25th anniversary of the series.
Also Metroid: Zero Mission, because it's better than the original.

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
