He's saying the PS2 is sexier than the PSP, and the PS3 sexier than both. Although it shouldn't be comparable because those PSP devs didn't jump ship to the PS3. They just jumped ship.

I'm kidding. XD

I don't really know a way to put it other than "People get interested in new possibilities".

so after you spend lots of time with a new "thing" (as in PSP. not referring to a woman as a object :wtf:) hackers are more adventurous to try out new things and test the "thing" to the limit (again. about the PSP

)

eventually when they completely under stand the "thing" and know it's limitations and capabilities...they get bored and trade up for another better one XD

okay okay..MAYBE that was said in a joking manner

It doesn't hold when there's more interest in the PS2 dev scene than the PSP one though.

not to get off topic : they still make PlayStation 2 homebrew??

I have an insider at Sony that told me that they are going to stop making PlayStation 2 games by mid 2011 or end of 2011

Currently waiting on a fully working version of PS2PSXe!

And of course OPL is getting updates.

And you don't need an insider source to tell you that a 10 year old console is winding down to a death...just check the game release schedules....looks dead by March!

The PSP scene has been pretty dead nowadays. Back then, the PSP was thriving. lan.st and ps2dev would be full of activity. But the PSP is nearing it's death. I don't think there will be anything more than a few emulator updates and slight homebrew changes.

I'll just wait for the PSP2.

I have a question guys.

What's more important, the number of things being developed, or the things themselves? Quantity or quality?

Answer with either/or.

quality...

you could have a bunch of emulators....

but if they can't emulate worth a crap...then I guess none are good at all

if you have one GOOD one...then well...you have a good one

Then why is everybody concerned with the NUMBER of updates?

"Hey the PS3 is getting an SNES and Genesis emulator but the PSP's not getting anything new!" - The PSP already HAS them.
"Hey the PS3's getting a dreamcast emulator but the PSP's not getting anything new!" - The PSP can't emulate a dreamcast at a playable speed anyways.

It's like people are only focusing on the number of updates like it's some fucking penis comparison game.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
