I wanted to use cfw and homebrew stuff. Though I also really don't want to be banned when Smash Switch and hopefully next year, pokemon will be a thing.
If I deleted all my wifi settings and also always played in airplane mode, would I be fine to start with hacking?
Secondly, around when smash comes out, is there a way for me to delete any and all homebrew/edits from my system so I could go online again?
Basically, I want to use cfw and homebrew, but when smash comes out in december, I want to be able to delete anything suspicious from my switch and go online again. Would there still be a high chance of being banned?

There's no reason to use ReiNX Hekate plus the leaked sig patches as they have the same sig patches but ReiNX has less features overall. New LayeredFS I believe prevents backups from being launched as it was primarily meant for modding.

Now i tested NX loader, cause i got an OTG Adapter flying around, luckily. Effect: nothing. Nothing happens at NXloader, when i follow the instructions. No request for USB-rights, just nothing. As far as i understood, nxloader should run automatically when rcmed switch is connected.
Should i open a thread to get more attention?

Can i send paylaod using an sd-card only? Thought i read about such things, but cant find it anymore

EDIT: any experience if this is safe ? https://elijahzawesome.github.io/web-cfw-loader/

Sorry if this has been asked before but I bought a second switch to hack. I have no desire to play games online nor get anything from the E-shop including DLC. The only thing I really care about are game updates. If I were to say screw it and go online with my hacked switch then get banned, What functions would I lose with the switch?

I am planning to order the following jig:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nintendo...325750?hash=item3f9d14ccf6:g:4SEAAOSwm4Na~UJ8

The seller has good feedbacks, can anyone say if this will be good? Maybe anyone already ordered from him?
Or is there a better alternative for the same price maybe?
Are you talking about if the seller is trustworthy? Because I don't think anyone would go out of their way to scam or give poor service over something of such low value.
As for quality, I don't think I've read any bad reviews for any of them. I'd link you the one I personally use but couldn't find it anymore. I'd just buy the one you linked and not worry about it.

I meant the quality of the jig, so that it does not harm the joycon rails, the pins, etc.

I checked my seller and he no longer sells them. Mine worked fine.

I think you'll find that most are claimed to be tested before being shipped out. As for harming the joycon rails, I'd imagine that's a risk with all of them that can't be avoided (even official game cart pins get scratched just from normal use, so what chance does a jig have?). I don't constantly plug and unplug mines for this reason.

In other words (unless I'm wrong, someone correct me), they're all the same in terms of quality and usage.

I have two questions, sorry if both have been answered to death already.

1- Are XCI files actually safer from ban than NSP? If so why is that?

2- Is there any significant risk of permanent damage of the Switch in using AutoRCM? Like if i screw up like letting the battery run out or something else for example.

Not exactly a hacking related question. Can offensive names get you banned online? My Switch console nickname and username is hairypussy.
Uh...I don't believe that is a Terms of Service violation. After all, Nintendo is not responsible for online interactions.

Backup your NAND with this. As long as it is made before you start any hacking, you can wipe most, if not all traces, of all hacks performed afterwards. Stay offline with your hacks. Then, if you want to do anything online, restore the NAND backup you made with the same tool used to back it up. Before you restore it however, make another NAND backup so you don't lose progress of all of the hacks you performed. Repeat these steps until EmuNAND is out as it will make this process much easier where you will perform all of your hacking in one offline NAND while you will go online with the other without doing any hacking.

You can open a new thread but I feel like you're overlooking a simple step as I've never heard of anyone encountering a problem such as yours. Also, we cannot send payloads via SD card without the SX Pro Dongle. Lastly, the web version is worth a shot if you have the supported OS.

Normal console bans (dauth server bans) prevent you from accessing the eShop on your console as well as online play. Superbans (atum server bans) prevent those as well as game/system updates. It should be noted that superbans are only triggered if excessive CDN downloading is done using your console's certificate such as through a CDN downloader or Freeshop/eXhop.
Is there a guide where can I read from start to end how to install and use a cfw if I have a jig and an usb cable?

i read that rcm can be dangerous? I would like to know what the risk are, since i use it for some time now.

I am aware that the switch can still be on when you turn it off, but that isnt a issue for me since its always in sleep mode when not using it. are there any other risks?

When doing general homebrew stuff like going to hbmenu or games which "Launch CFW" option is the best?
  • CFW + clear logs
  • LayeredFS + clear logs
  • Atmosphere
Or is there a better option

Probably Question 1000 for me lol
Can the Switch be connected to the internet as long as you don't try to play online or download anything? (for FTP use)
Also is there a thread that explains the terms that are used like CDN, Nand, Emmunand or things that Noobs like myself don't fully understand?

I have a few questions if anyone would be kind enough to answer them as I just bought myself the SX pro

(1) I understand its not wise to go online or play games online when using the homebrew or Dongle, but is it safe to go online with my legit cart games when Im not using it?

(2) I only intend to use it for save backups and maybe some editing in Splatoon 2 (weapons slots) and Mario Odyssey (Moons)-is this pretty safe/has anyone else done this?

Cant think of any more right now

I have a noob question about game updates.

I have an sx pro, I went online on stock firmware to update to 5.1.0 and get the exfat update (I don't care about potentially getting banned) and the rmc/dongle method is fine for me.

Since doing that, games I try to launch in sx os are saying there are updates available. None of these games have been on the system before, before 5.1.0, I pretty much just tested the dongle worked and booted the os, and that's it.
I'm offline now and the games launch fine, they just show update available and I have to hit start. Why am I being told there are updates, when I'm offline, don't even have wifi set up anymore. Hiting download tells me no connection, so definitely offline.

Does the switch firmware contain a list of updates or something, so with 5.1.0 it knows there are updates for X games? Is there a way to make the message go away other than install the update
(whether that's online or just an update nsp).

Only real risk of AutoRCM outside of what you listed is that if the battery is fully depleted, it will take a while for the Switch to roar back to life because charge rate is reduced in RCM with AutoRCM installed. Once it accumulates enough charge, either remove AutoRCM to let it charge normally or boot into Horizon to resume charging.

Not sure what question is in referral to here. Launching CFW=Launching Atmosphere. Never clear error logs on 5.X. Using LayeredFS to play backups has a very high ban risk. Using it to mod games though may be less harmful. If you are referring to how to stay safe, stay offline with all hacks and restore a NAND made before hacking prior to going online (whilst making a NAND backup before going online as well).
Probably Question 1000 for me lol

The Switch has hidden Internet settings stored within it that we cannot remove yet and are used when you are near a Nintendo Hotspot. Only way to deal with this is through Airplane mode. As for your second question, this thread hasn't been updated in a while but its got a few terms in there.

  1. No because the Switch can log information of hacks being used when offline so if you must go online, make a NAND backup using Hekate prior to using any hacks then restore it before you go online (whilst also making another NAND backup of your hacked NAND so you don't lose all of your hacked data)
  2. People have been banned for using homebrew and booting into OFW with SX OS. It is not 100% safe
I have a noob question about game updates.

The games themselves may have been used on a Switch with a higher version causing the prompt to appear.
Also try the following to remove the update:
1. First make sure you cancel the upgrade!
2. Then press the power button and hold for about 5 seconds
3. Choose power off
4. Hold down VOL+ and VOL- and pres simultaneously the power button
5. Choose update but do not update... instead cancel the process!
6. Shut down the console and restart normally

Silly office thought - Can I remove an nsp file from my SD after installing it on SXOS/DevMenu?

Gotta make full use of my 128gb microSD.... Shocked I filled it up so quickly haha.

@Draxzelex Thanks for your help. I got hekate running now. What I had to do is: wait. 5 minutes at least. That's how long it takes to inject the payload. Do you have any idea how to speed it up?

Other question I made a backup of nand:) and now I want to launch Custom Firmware. when I click Launch Custom Firmware the switch Starts just my "normal"main Menu and tells me I have to update to use my SD card. No options in album, everything looks normal. I am on 4.0.
