Booting into RCM doesn't turn on the system normally. If you've successfully booted into RCM, it will look like a black screen. Also your serial number has no bearing on whether or not you can enter RCM because even patched units still enter RCM. The only reason we know they're patched is because they fail to accept payloads in RCM.
Thanks for your reply Drax, so I succesfully entered in rcm mode, I have an USB to USB C cable (the one that comes with the Controller Pro) I connect my Switch through it to the computer right? I've installed TegraRcmGUI in windows, but not sure what to do from theresince there's no text in the Switch...

You need to install the driver under the "settings" tab in TegraRcmGUI. When you connect your Switch to the PC it will then detect it and show a green "RCM OK" image in the lower left corner:

Here's a very nice guide that explains all the steps really well: https://guide.sdsetup.com/#/accessingrcm

But, the most recent firmware is 6.2.0 and I can update to 6.2.0 w/ exFAT. If 6.3.0 is released later on
then I could use ChoiDujourNX.

What I am trying to avoid is SD card not being detected when I first install CFW through Hekate.
But, you mentioned how this is not an issue right? Can also dump my eMMC without the exFAT
update. Then update through ChoiDujourNX (man that is a long name and hard to spell).

Also, how do I convert XCI to NSP for use on NS-Atmosphere?
That's why I recommended to use FAT32. If the SD card is larger than 32 GB, you will have to use a third-party tool such as GUIFormat (highly recommended by everyone).

And as explained, exFAT support is irrelevant when it comes to Hekate because its loaded outside of Horizon.

For converting .XCI files, you can use 4NXCI or xci2nsp. Both require keys which can be dumped with the homebrew app, lockpick.

You need to send a payload via TegraRCMGUI (although if I could shill for a second here, I highly recommend TegrarRCMSmash as it has less bugs and is faster than TegraRCMGUI). This would be the .bin file of whatever CFW you want to use. Whatever you guide you are following has surely provided you with a payload to send yes?

So I have to format my SD card to FAT32 using GUIFormat convert the XCIs to NSPs which requires
my consoles keys to fake-sign them then split in 4GB parts to install on my Switch?

Yes.

Converting from .XCI to .NSP isn't really fake signing them. Its actually just converting a flag to require the cartridge slot from yes to no. The keys are moreso needed to decrypt the .XCI since you can't get into that flag without breaking apart the .XCI file first. And like I said, if its converted to .NSP format, you don't need to split them to install on a FAT32 formatted SD card as there are workarounds such as network or USB install (highly recommended).

USB? How with a USB Type C to Type A adapter? So I can use FTP to install NSPs? And I also have to install that Update Nag thing to prevent updates. Say let me install Hekate + NS-Atmosphere first. Then we troubleshoot the rest.

Any USB cable will work as long as one end is USB-C since that's what the Switch's USB port uses.

FTP is not the same as network install. FTP is a way to transfer any file. Network install is a way to transfer .NSP files over a local network.

Running Hekate, system 6.0.1. Can't run the HB App Store without connecting to the internet, can't connect to the internet without updating the system version. Is there a workaround? Otherwise whats the "safest" way to do an update?

so I've setup my keys.txt for ChoiDujour as explained in the Lockpick thread. And I think found the correct keys via Google.
I keep getting an error though:
Exception: Invalid NCA header! Are keys correct?

I guess I have to have the correct number of "master_key_0X" entries in my keys.txt? How do I know which ones I need?
I downloaded a 6.1.0 firmware image that consisted of a whole lot of subfolders after extracting.

You would need up to masterkey 5 since firmwares under 6.0-6.1 all use that one. As a reference, this thread has a list of the keys (but not their actual values).

How can I block Nintendo Switch updates, in order to access Local LAN and other online based
homebrews? Is SuperNag still working?

Thanks. I ended up just updating my Switch 6.2 w/ exFAT support. You mentioned corruption, but it is just more
convenient for me to use exFAT. If anything I did a backup of my RAW eMMC + BOOT 0 /1. Should it should
be fine. I think ReiNX 2.0 has been released man, are you sure it is unofficial? Anyways I will use Atmosphere
as a friend in Discord recommended it, because it has more anti-banning tools. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ReiNX 2.0 hasn't been released officially yet.

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
