You could get your money back and get another. Also, @happy_bunny one can use backups with it perfectly, I do.
could it be that gecko.net is set to only connect to COM2 or something like that?Ok sounds like the device is working and didnt get damaged in the post. Why hell dont geckodotnet connect :-( on the device manager page in windows which version of driver is it using ? Will dig out that modified version of geckdotnet see if that works. Tetsed that device on usb 2.0 maybe try it on that port but i think its the bloody ftdi drivers
Yes i un installed the old ones and reinstalled 2.10.00 and now it says 2.10.00 instead of 2.12.00. Ill try the new gecko.net later tonightcan you download this version
https://mega.nz/#!F0QxhDpQ!EgbPDgfmre_B ... 7IyuSdLFKk
unzip it someplace start the wii then geckos and then run
GeckoDotNet_update\GeckoDotNet\GeckoDotNet\bin\Debug\GeckoDotNet.exe
does that connect ? also in the device manager right click on com3 select properties click the driver tab under driver version does it say
2.10.0.0

Tried installing these. I have no clue what the problem is but I'm very upset.. it sends the triangle, but it never connects with gecko. Is tyere any alternative to gecko and wiird? Because the triangle works, so i knoe the device isn't damaged nor is my cable or wii. It is gecko.net. no versions of the drivers work.Sadly there is nothing I can do. I think the new drivers break the way wiird and geckdotnet talk to the device. I wonder if the orginal devices have this problem as well ?
Steve (Happy_BunnyThats odd the debug version of geckodotnet dont work right ? maybe its gecko os can you try this
1) use ftdi drivers 2.10.0.0 (as they work for me)
2) use the debug geckdotnet version (as it is less picky about comm ports)
3) put the device in memory slotb in the wii
4) try an older version of geckos 1.8.0.2
both sides need to talk to each other geckodotnet says 'hello' the gecko os needs to say 'hi' back. The triangle working means the phone line between the two sides is working but someones not talking :-(
can you send debug gecko.net and gecko os 1.8.0.2? i cant find gecko os 1.8.0.2Thats odd the debug version of geckodotnet dont work right ? maybe its gecko os can you try this

oh, i forgot to try that. I'm going to try it now.I mean the geckodotnet exe from the zip in the link
https://mega.nz/#!F0QxhDpQ!EgbPDgfmre_B ... 7IyuSdLFKk
run GeckoDotNet_update\GeckoDotNet\GeckoDotNet\bin\Debug\GeckoDotNet.exe
with the older ftdi drivers 2.10.0.0 then try the latest gecko os (forget about 1.8.0.2) with that combination I think the geckdotnet will try and connect if it dont I think the wii is not replying for some reason.
