ShadowNAND
CFW in your NAND

__________________________
I hardbricked my N3DS yesterday to a freak accident (don't even know what went wrong), and I don't have the resources to get it fixed. With the addition of very busy real life, I think it's time for me to say good bye to the scene as a developer. If anybody wants to continue ShadowNAND, PM me and we can work something out.

Thank you for all the support.

I've seen a lot of people talking and asking about this, and there has been a lot of misinformation and misconception about this. So I decided to clear things up, and ask the community what they would like to see.

ShadowNAND is a CFW in your NAND. It will be installed like A9LH, and will simply work without SD.

ShadowNAND isn't:
  • SaltFW
  • Luma3DS
  • Stock firmware
  • A piracy tool

Planned features:
  • SysNAND Booting without SD. (DONE! Thanks to @AuroraWright)
  • Sigcheck patches. (DONE! Thanks to @AuroraWright)
  • Firmwrite protection for regular boot. (DONE! Thanks to @AuroraWright)
  • Firmwrite protection for SAFE_MODE.
  • Splash screen.
  • External payload loading. (DONE!)
  • EmuNAND support (9.x and onwards).
  • Reboot patches.
  • No screeninit unless key is held. (DONE!)
  • Built-in safety net (altstage2). (DONE!)
  • Built-in optional bootloader with GUI (based on CTRBootManager9).
  • External injector/loader support.
  • Full A9NC support. (DONE!)

ShadowNAND v0.85 released! Get it here!

Would be cool if you could post a simple tutorial to install it (after it is meant to be installed).
I'm using A9LH right now and want to use this stuff even if the SD card isn't inserted.

Will this only patch the normal firm or are you going to patch Safe/Recovery Mode like Luma does too?

Don't know, I'm using an old3ds XL 10.3 sysnand US. Just launching without the SD card. When I close and reopen the lid, it's gone.
ShadowNAND wouldn't really interfere with that. To clarify, you close lid, and then open it when you're on the home menu, and that causes the view to be gone?

EDIT: Can't reproduce on n3ds XL.
EDIT2: You're right, the screeninit is fucked up.

Sweet Baby Rays is like baseline for a decent/good bbq sauce, but nothing outright incredible

Stubbs is a pretty damn good sauce that I think you'll find on most grocery shelves as I don't think it's regional

Best bbq sauce I've ever bought on a grocery store shelf

smokey flavor that reminds me of beef jerkey on top of a really rich kind of bbq sauce. Heat level that is a nice zing, not overwhelming, but it tingles all the way down your throat

We all should have free health, dental, vision care, and make the college kids pay for the schooling, f that college forgiveness plan our govt doing now, its really not fair for all others in the past that had to pay for they're schooling anyways (like me, with 2 kids I paid to send to college in the past)

I think we should outlaw healthcare entirely because the fact that people can get healthcare today is unfair to those in the past that couldn't

@Sicklyboy - the comparison would be forgiving all medical debt, not making healthcare illegal!

Although I still don't agree, medical debt is rarely a choice, whereas enrolling in university is certainly a choice

College costs, college loans, book prices, the entire thing is predatory, oft touted as essential to a successful life for my generation and the ones since, and completely unaffordable without putting you through an insane financial hardship for literal decades in many situations.
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Many of the same issues can be seen for the insanely predatory healthcare and health insurance system in the US
