False positive?
Ran it over a few times (even rebooted) and it said the same thing. Still might be a false positive but I'm not taking any risks. And if I recall Rominator has some issues with other AV's picking it up a while ago.

It's probably picking up the Rom Trimming code as a possible trojan.

TinyTrimmer doesn't get picked up.

It's because it is a RealBasic application -- Many Antivirus applications deemed Rominator as a false positive a couple of times, so I've had the antivirus users contact the company they use for antivirus and let them know it found a false positive.

I was even able to prove it to them by building a blank application yet it was still deemed a trojan (Win32Gen.Other), yet developed on a Mac xD

Avast Antivirus doesn't report a trojan even with the latest definition updates. It's just ClamAV.

When I try to check for updates to the database through help, the bar moves a tiny bit forward then dissapears.
My database is at update 0 and can't rename any ROMs. Using XP SP3

Can someone with a recent database file upload a copy so that we can just put it into our Rominator folder? Also which (sub)directory would it go into? It's too bad that Rominator is dying a slow death, especially since it was so good.

Update: My Rominator managed to download the database file a couple hours after I originally posted here. It still only has games up through 4162 though.

Is anybody still updating the database? 4179 is the latest I have.

There should be a database update really soon. The last database administrator quit on hankchill so the updates were dead for a while.

thats cool... we all needed an update

I've asked hankchill if it's alright to post an updated file or if I should wait (last I heard, there were server issues). So now I wait to hear back.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
