So i've gone and dumped my nand flashed the ecc and attempted to boot.
when I do, the light on the 360 itself stays red.
what now? any suggestions?

EDIT: when disconnecting from power, reconnecting and turning the 360 on, coolrunner shows green light for a second, then just displays the red light.
EDIT: I flashed the nand back and set the coolrunner to PHAT and PROG. 360 boots fine. Probably a bad coolrunner flash.

If it is not flashing green then the coolrunner is not programmed with the right file, the ecc file is messed up, or its not installed properly.

yeah, it was the coolrunner.
had a tough time reflashing, but it required it to be under NOR instead of PRG which is a little inverted if you ask me... although it was being powered from the mobo... so that could have been it.

New question:
I have the little switch set to PHAT because it doesnt seem to want to boot at all if set to slim.
I've been testing it and now it seems to boot in less than 10 seconds in most cases. (if not, within 30-60 seconds) does it have some sort of memory or something? also, does setting the coolrunner to PHAT / SLIM change anything at all?

thanks people

No.
You'll have to set the switch to PHAT.

You could check your wiring.
If it runs to close to the inductors it will slow down booting.

Between the green and blue wire there are 4 big solder points.
Those are the inductors.

If your wire runs close to them it will slow down booting.

why do you set it to PHAT?
is there a proper reason?

Coolrunners don't boot on PHAT on a Slim console and vice versa.

At least they shouldn't boot.

I also had boot problems on my Falcon so I moved the wiring a little and now it boots within seconds.

it does boot on phat. i promise.
having really flakey bootings.

all wires are default TX length, and used the 1.1 trinity timings that came with nandpro30.

any suggestions?

I believe you.
I'm just saying that it shouldn't boot.

You have coiled up the 50cm wire?
Other then that I'd say to check the inductors on the Slim .

had CR set to SLIM, booted once after 20 seconds. tried again... fails to boot. tried again... fails to boot. etc
had CR set to PHAT, booted like 5 seconds - cold boot. off, then turn the xbox off, then wait 30 seconds, power and boots in 5 seconds.
:S
again, maybe 10 seconds. maybe i've done something wrong, but whatever, it boots, it all works fine.
i think i am going to leave it as is. seems fine at the moment. super quick boots now.
thanks for your suggestions DinohScene.

I'll keep tabs on this thread and see how it goes.

EDIT: last time, flashed green 11 times... longest boot yet. still faster than most SLIM boots

Hmm.

A glitch in nature is unreliable so you can expect a glitchhack not to work for 100%
But since it works and boots fine I'd suggest leaving it as it is.

I hope that it will stay this way for you.
Maybe the CR gets an update for Trinity to improve boot times and reliability.

You can optionally solder on a capacitor but I suggest not to do it.

edit: You're welcome ;]
