Haven't checked in here for a while... wow, the newer versions are looking great!
Just curious, where do I get a list of all supported BIOS files and their CRCs? I've downloaded a ton of BIOS files last year from THATISOSITE, but no idea if this is still needed or up to date. I'd be pretty happy with a datfile or a hint where to get a updated archive of all supported BIOS files.
Okay so I need some help. I cant get RetroArch to work...
I have downloaded the 2017-11-19_RetroArch_rpx.7z binary, extracted.
1. Copied the RetroArch Folder Over
2. Copied Assets in to retroarch\media folder
3. Copied \wiiu\apps\retroarch from the rpx file onto sd card
When I run retroarch from HBL it just goes to a black screen and locks there.
What am I doing that isn't right?
I had a previous installation that worked (kind of) but I deleted everything to start over.

Just click your way through all systems on the left and check for the BIOS mark in the navigation on the right then.
Another option would be to look at that archive site where some smart guy () has already done the work of collecting all BIOS files with the right MD5 checksum for you.
Did you delete your retroarch config?
Don't boot Retroarch.rpx I think its still broken from a while ago, replace it with another Emu core rpx and boot that from HBL insteadI deleted the directories... is there something else I should have done? I don't think the cores I use require any BIOS files. I'm mainly using NES and SNES.

It sounds pretty much like your SD card is the problem. Did you try another one?Started getting problems on my Wii U, not really sure why.
Recently when loading up Retroarch wii U channel i installed it loads into REtroarch then it completely freezes on retroarch main menu.
Now I'm seeming to have problems with any software loaded thru Homebrew Channel or that use the SD card. The apps used to show but now they dont on the homebrew launcher, and when they do they just re-boot the HBL whenever opened.
The RetroArch channel on my wii u homescreen now just reboots to the wii u homescreen when selected, and ive tried re-installing retroarch (deleted wiiu/apps/retroarch and /retroarch folder, then re-added) to no avail ):
Is there something thats happening for this to happen? I know miiverse recently shut down so idk about that, just want Retroarch back on my wii u - and it seems HBL can't load anything thru USB.
Can i put the apps (retroarch for eg) on the USB drive and have it all load off of that (i have 2 usbs atm, one for vWii (backups/vWii emus) and one for Wii u (wii u backups, DS/Cube channels)?

You could have everything on one USB drive with Mocha's FAT32 build but even then you would have to use your SD card once after every boot to launch that Mocha version.

I had the same problem (with Retroarch, not with other software loaded through the Homebrew Loader) until I moved the files from /retroarch/media/retroarch-assets-master/ to /retroarch/media/. Maybe this helps.Started getting problems on my Wii U, not really sure why.

And no, HBL can't load anything from USB.
[Edit:]
Mocha FAT32? Does it also load the Wii U games from FAT32?
Sounds like all SD card access is redirected to your USB drive... try it without Mocha. But then you wont be able to access the Wii U games from the FAT32 hard drive, obviously.Uh, nothing from my Homebrew Launcher shows. I tried another SD card and I even loadiine'd into Mocha to try but nothing showed (I have Coldhax so dont usually need to do this).
Guh... halp :|
It loads Wii U games from a fat32 hard drive (formatted to whatever format wii u uses).
It still recognizes SD cards being inserted, vWii still recognises SD card, just doesn't show apps that are there :| Maybe ill try .elf instead of .rpx for retroarch

Do you have the homebrew apps installed on SD or USB?
I have all that stuff running on SD, though I could check if it's on USB too. I unplugged the HD while trying to see, but no doesnt recognise SD.
Just tried the .elf versions, nothing shows up :|
Edit: Just put in the old SD card and launched Retroarch Forwarder and ... it's working? wat is happening am i ded
ediot: i think coldhax boots into mocha. i was worried but was confidently modding it so bought brain training and it was v simple. saves a lot of time than having to go thru browser, like +2seconds at start of boot and boom. cfw
Check the newer SD card with CHKDSK or Windows Scandisk. Maybe some file got corrupted.
Also check the /retroarch/media folder, delete that zipfile if there is one, redownload it from the PC and extract it there.
I'm using normal Haxchi, doesn't hurt me too much clicking the Haxchi button and also prevents the Wii U being bricked when I ever decide to delete and reinstall Haxchi (or if someone stupidly moves it to USB). I'm pretty careful with that stuff.
As ploggy said:
To do that, delete the retroarch.rpx, make a copy of another core (e.g. the mgba core) and rename that copy to retroarch.rpx
From what I can gather it seems like it's stable, I heard only the main retroarch.rpx has issues sometimes, but not always.I see that 1.6.8 has been released, but how does it fare?
Libretro 1.6.8 Changelog said:– WII: Use custom, embedded libogc SDK.
– WIIU: Initial touchscreen support for WiiU gamepad.
– WIIU: Add Cheevos support.
