It's possible in other RetroArch ports(Windows, OSX, Android and so on) but not yet in Vita.

Oh okay, that would be cool to eventually be able to update nightlies on the Vita itself, I was messing around with my iPhone last night and was able to install the newest nightly through a free FTP app, I also have a free .zip archive app to unzip the cores I want.

Since frangarcj says that MAME 2000 now finally works, I'm going to add it to the nightlies. Keep watching the nightly section like a hawk I guess.

EDIT: Actualy scratch that, it was already in the nightlies, just it never worked. So I guess we should wait for the next nightly build, and it should work then.

Do note you need iMAME4All/MAME 2000 romsets for this.

FBA general is running for sure but I can't get SF3 third strike running for the life of me can someone confirm that it works? I tried ClrMamepro to rebuild them still no good I'm using the CPS3 versions is that the problem?

can we please have the ability to change controls for mame? maybe even neogeo.

i ran the first mortal kombat in mame and you have

L- low kick
R- nothing (guessing it would be RUN on later mk versions)
Triangle - low punch
circle - high punch
square - block
x - high kick

that is a weird set up.

also the simpsons works like a charm but can only play as marge.

anyhoo, really excited you guys got mame working. keep up the great work, lads.

You can get the 2 player version of Simpsons or ninja turtles , I'm not home to test if those work
But the file should have a 2 in the name
The 2 player version lets you pick any character you want

moonwalker doesnt work on mame at all.
on fba, it loads but freezes instantly.

thanks for the tip on the simpsons. i wasnt aware there was a 2player version of the game. for anyone who wants to know, the 2 player version runs on fba. it does not run on mame even though the 4player version does.

What do you mean by runs on fba but not on mame

What does Update Core Info Files do in the Online Updater? Is it possible to install the newest nightly core through the Online Updater?

Since no one has said anything about it (And considering networking doesn't work yet[?]), I'd say no...

for the simpsons game.
when using the simpsons from mame rom set in mame2000: 4p simpsons works, 2p simpsons does not work.
when using the simpsons from non-mame fba rom set in FBA2012 (general): 4p simpons works, 2p simpsons also works.

edit: after acquiring a better rom set, both 4p and 2p simpsons work on mame2000 and fba2012

just for the record anybody that has already updated assets via the built in updater you can delete the assets files from within the vpk files and save space

the updated assets from the built in updater only takes up space in the retroarch folder one time while the vpk assets take up space for each app you install so a waste of space I plan to remove the assets from every vpk

Mame2000 works, but it doesn't make the folders of artwork/cfg/nvram/samples.

Edit: First rom loading is works, but if you load another romset, it crashes. (You need to exit Mame2000 and launch again to play another game)
