Would it be possible to enable the stereoscopic 3D for the overworld on the Pokemon games? I know this was disabled when ORAS and XY first came out, as the o3DS wasn't powerful enough to allow this feature. Now that we have the New 3DS, would it be possible to modify the game/rom somehow, to enable 3D throughout the whole game of Pokemon, and not just Pokemon battles? Thanks!

It's possible but uh, I think someone would have to manually edit the game to do so, and..that would take a shit load of time to do I believe..if I'm understanding by overworld..

You mean when your normally walking around and speaking to NPC and encountering pokemon, right?

Yeah, since the 3D feature is disabled when doing that. 3D is only enabled in Pokemon battles.

I'm one of those people who really loves and enjoys the 3D :L So it kind of gets to me when I'm playing with the 3D off. And since from what I know, the only reason the 3D was disabled in the first place, was due to the hardware limitations of the o3DS.

I just know, and am severely disappointed, in the automatic framerate hit that the game takes when turning on 3D. Considering that Game Freak had the 3DS SDK literally longer than any third party to make Generation VI, I was fully expecting much better from them. Considering Sakurai was able to ensure a 60fps lock for Smash 4 3DS, Tajiri and Masuda have no excuse to say they couldn't deliver.

It actually has a steady framerate (with 3D enabled) if you clock the n3DS to run at 804mhz in Pokemon with something like HANS or NTR. Which is why I think something like this would only be possible on a n3DS.

    I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

    They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

    Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
    and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

    There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

    im taking a break for today anyway

    That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
