This is freaking chaos.

People using different nightlies, and the format and folders for each nightly is different.
Having a tutorial for the different folder and file formats used would be nice.

Is it true that we are unable to play other region cia on new3ds with rxtools?

I just order new3ds jp fw9.0 last hour, planing to put rxtools on it. I found someone on this forum said that regionfree feature doesn't work on new3ds while o3ds does. Plus ntr is no longer support on emunand anymore.

Anyone here can shed me a light how can I play us cia on my upcoming new3ds.

I too have 9.5 EmuNAND with bootNTR.cia installed.

At the moment there is no native support for RegionFree in rxtools on N3DS. You need to use FreeMultiPatcher with that. It's not that big of a hassle, just start it once when you boot your device, patch the regions and play your game.

Or just convert fwspoof the cia yourself using simple 3DS To CIA converter. Just get the right region 3DS file.

No it doesn't region free, but you can Also fwspoof the updates for cryptofix issue. I'm playing 330+ roms, plus 2000 emulators on a 200gb 9.5 EmuNAND on N3DS-XL.

It does regionfree automatically in latest releases. Box tick was removed since some releases because the dev decided that RF should be always on.
You dont need to cryptofix retail games, only eshop. For retail games you just need to fw spoof, and you can do that with simple CIA converter too

Thanks for the info, I thought newer games also need decryption if above 9.5.

So when a new game comes and I don't want to wait for a cia I just take the 3ds and convert it with simple cia converter and am done?

Unless something change, if you convert from a retail cartdrige you have to select fw spoof in simple CIA converter and you are done

The only reason I want to use rxtools is for menuhax and cold boot. If I am not able to get that to work I will stick with my gateway. I had it working with an older build that uses the firmware.bin but after trying to update I could never get it to work again.

I will test more on Thursday.

If you want to use menuhax you will have to update your sysnand to 9.0-9.2. I think I read that your O3DS is on 4.2.

I am using the latest nightly build the 12\05\2015 on a N3DS it is running sweet, pasta mode works, everything is great

Just 2 quick fire questions please folks

1. i am using the cakes FW files, i am hearing i only need the main one and no longer need the cetk one, could anyone please confirm this ?

2. is multi region working on this for N3DS now ?
