No, it actually is a simple swap. Just replace your boot.3dsx with the one downloaded in the zip and drag the "gridlauncher" folder into your SD card's root.

Thank you for the speedy reply, i will give this a go first thing in the morning when the kids are in school :)

Hi guys, been reading this thread with great interest and i really like the way that this grid layout looks

I am currently a user of the standard/latest HBL

I downloaded the zip and looked and the files and assume by looking it's not as simple as just swapping out the boot.3dsx file ?

It's not a straight forward swap of files to move to the Grid version but a lot more involved ? I cant just switch over simply i guess what i am asking ?
If you want to change grid launcher themes it gets a bit more involved.

But pretty much everything you'd need to put anywhere gets placed in /gridlauncher/ so it's easy enough to do.

So for me to be straight in my own mind, swap out the boot.3dsx with the existing HBL one, gridlauncher folder goes on the root of the card, then i am right to assume when it boots the first time the grid launcher looks @ the 3ds folder on my card and reads all the other apps in there ?

Bingo, yeah.

Thanks again @RedHat and @Arseface_TM

Sadly i cannot try it tonight, bit late here now and too many distractions, but will give it a bash in the morning and will leave some feedback on how i get on with it

All being well once the first part is up and running, then i can look at the the theme side of things, but i'll take it a step at a time

Thanks guys :)

Does anyone have a fix for SVDT or Save manager, they both seem to lock up on Ninjhax 2.5 payloads. 2.1 works fine though...

What version of the launcher are you running on?
I would like to note that if it's 127 (or whenever it was fixed), that the payload might need to be updated. the latest 2.5 payload date is 2015-11-18.

Hi everyone, I have updated the original post with a link to the new Gridlauncher Wiki. This centralises a lot of the information on how to install, maintain and configure the launcher. I have therefore removed this information from the original post. Here's a link to the Wiki:

https://github.com/mashers/3ds_hb_menu/wiki

Issues or requests for the Wiki should be posted here:

https://github.com/RedInquisitive/3DS-Homebrew-Menu-Wiki/issues

Big thanks to @RedHat for setting this up and helping to maintain the Wiki!

I don't know if you're aware, but anyone with an account is able to edit the wiki, like so (I don't have push access to the normal repo): https://github.com/mashers/3ds_hb_menu/wiki/Home-FAQ/_history

just making sure :)

Hey @mashers how about putting a changelog into the gridlauncher?
It's annoying to enter gbatemp every time that a update launches to see the changelog.
Keep up the good work!
@mashers you could (also?) move the changelog to something like the wiki and, just like other things, link to it in the first post.

it might be a good idea to not have it in one large page, and instead have something like the last 5 releases on that page and the rest in another.

Yes, 5 recent releases only is fine.

I always thought that the mglupdater was going to do this at some point.
there's no good place to grab the changelog though, and trying to parse the first post for them is not worth the effort unfortunately.

I often see CHANGELOG.md in repos so I might put it there...
