nope you can just run the exploit and they "should" just work

i only say "should" as i havnt actually tried games requiring 4.5+ but i know using the standard gateway launcher has firmware spoofing so it works with gateway card ordinarily...i see no reason why it shouldnt though

Fire Emblem will work for sure. Poke X if it has a save file already created by a official 6.x device, it will not work as the save files won't be decrypted.

Just so people know gateway have said they are going to add region free classic mode in their next release, if you want to be as safe as possible, I recommend waiting for the official gateway release......just incase this is the cause of some of the recent bricks

Well the gateway team warned us not to use the patch as it can brick your unit so that scared me out, dont wanna risk the chance of bricking my baby :).

please provide proof of were this has bricked a console before committing Slander against something

as i have tested many times on multiple consoles
not a single brick

Dude where is all this heat coming from, slander is such a strong word. Anyway, I trust the gateway team more than Normmatt. And I have also tried it with US pokemon X on my Japanese console and it works online too just got my torchick just now. :)

the Bricking code was removed from using the patch also

so yes saying this does is Slander as it was removed and is SAFER than the official Gateway card
