IMPORTANT: If you like the music that everyone's been listening nowadays, get out of here.
Just got bored of the music that I use to listen.
I have 1700+ songs, but I've heard all of them. I'm an artist, so I spend most of the day, sit tight, painting or writting or studying while listening music.
My favourite genre is:
From Lounge to Trip-Hop, that includes, Jazz, Acid Jazz, Ambient, House, Bossa Nova, Chillout, etc.

But I've always liked other genres above others, like 60's and 70's classic rock (Grand Funk, Eric Burdon, Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin, etc. except Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin and the Beattles and 80's music ALL OF THEM), 90's music (Rap, Hip-Hop, Pop and Progressive) and Instrumental music and ballades.

Do you know any other groups/genres that you think I should listen to heat things a little bit?

Some music that I like:

Please post videos of the music you'd like me to hear :)

Now, I don't listen to much music. And by that I mean music made by bands or something like that. I mostly listen to videogame music.
But I've read you like jazz, so...

You should consider some lite or hard rock, here's a favorite of mine:

Good bands:

  • Evanescence
  • Seether
  • 10 Years
  • Theory of a Deadman
  • 12 Stones
  • Three days Grace
  • Trapt
and a few others I can't recall, but Google Play Music can help with related bands. But those are my favs.

Oh I have so much music to recommend. You might have heard some of it though (oh, I'm bad with genres, so I'll write what I think it is):

Genre: Jazzy trip-hop.
Artist: Bonobo
Recommended albums: Black Sands and Animal Magic
One song (from Animal Magic): Silver

Genre: Jazzy dubstep
Artist: Submotion Orchestra
Recommended albums: Finest Hour and Colour Theory
One song (from a 7" single (not from Finest Hour, the image in the video is unrelated)): Sunshine

Genre: Jazzy something (hmm, many jazzy elements in this list)
Artist: Cinematic Orchestra
Recommended albums: Everyday and Man With A Movie Camera
One song (from both Everyday & Man With..): Burn out

Genre: Cinematic dubstep
Aritst: Phaeleh
Recommended albums: Fallen Light
One song (from Fallen Light): Losing You

But wait, there's more!
Even if nothing above is in your liking: there's a whole series of mix albums called LateNightTales (and for a short while AnotherLateNight) where various artists put together a mix of favourite songs, inspirations, etc into a continuous mix. It's basically all your favourite genres. The good kind of rap/hip-hop, some bossanova, neo-classical, old pop and rock, soul, jazz... Here's a trailer for the most recent one (I own them all), they're sooooooo good:

May I ask why you don't like Pink Floyd?

Have you ever tried listening to Syd Barret's solo stuff?

Floyd spanned multiple decades, and usually people like at least one era.

Oh, I also have to add one genre I don't believe will pop up here otherwise!

Genre: Thai-funk!
Artist Khruangbin (They're from Texas, lol)
People Everywhere (Still Alive):

VAPORWAVE is pretty good

All that Vaporwave and its siblings is amazing to chill out to!
Here's one that I've been listening to a lot, not as much Vaporwave I believe:

(ナイトNaito - Kiss at 15:42 is one of my favs)

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
