Hey there,

I'm working on upstreaming Nintendo Switch support to the main repository (that means, to push the required code/files so the main repo itself can also build re3 for the Switch).

A few days ago me and madebr got Switch support for librw (graphics engine reimplementation used by re3) upstreamed. There's some issues I want to sort out on re3 regarding audio and some minor stuff before doing this (and I've got to thank the re3 team for their interest in helping me out to sort this out as well).

After the the changes are upstreamed, we should be able to recive nightly builds for both re3 and reVC automatically, which will include any changes and fixes the re3 team does. I'll make sure to announce it here properly when we're done with that!

Good stuff!

It's really refreshing to see a dev offering bracketed explanation for specialist terminology that some readers may not be familiar with.

Hello there,

I've finished the work to upstream Switch support into the main repo, now it's just a matter of getting it reviewed (so any potential mistakes or inconsistencies I've made can be fixed if any are found) before it gets merged. As some may have noticed, the pull requests generates binaries already, but I didn't announce it because they were unfinished and potentially unstable.

When this is merged, there should be automatic nightly builds for every change that is made, so you guys will benefit from all the bug fixes the main without any delay.

Download

Download link and installation instructions were updated in the main post (not very different though).
I'd recommend to do a fresh installation, to avoid any issues.

If you're going to report a bug, please test it on PC as well!
If it happens on PC, you should forward it to the re3 team through their GitHub issues or Discord (or you can just post here as well and I'll let them know).
If it only happens on the Switch, it might be something on my end so please comment here only as the re3 team will not be able to help out much on that case.

Thank you so much for this! I was able to download but I'm guessing we still need to wait for the ReVC upstream as this is only Re3.
By looking at the installation instructions, we no longer need to convert audio files? Nice!
