Hacking R4i Happybox v1.4 Theme

Hi everybody.

I'd like to change my R4i theme but I can't. I've got to get the setting menu but I can't understand how to.
I read my flashcart site but it does not explain anything.

I recommend you to throw this one away. Cards from r4isdhc.com are rubbish, nearly everyone knows that. Claims that is cooperated with Acekard and M3, but they are lying. Id recommend a r4i-sdhc.com card with *snip Kernel.

Actually I tried to run the *snip Kernel on my Happybox: I've just copied the content of the *snip Kernel file into my SD card and it all seemed to work, but I couldn't understand wheter it was working good or not...
Anyway, I definitely agree: cards from r4isdhc.com are rubbish, but now I can't afford to buy a new one.

*snip Kernel will not work on your cart as the *snip kernel is a fake kernel for the www.r4i-sdhc.com carts.

Why not try RetroGameFan's Multi Cart update and place the files in the R4SDHC folder onto your cart and then you'll at least be able to play the latest games and it should be easier to change skins with as well.

I'm currently running the last RetroGameFan (the 6.68 version , if i'm not wrong), but i've got run it with the original firm. A kind of dual-boot. Unfortunately,I am not able to change skins of the original firm (because I can't get to settings menu). Instead, no problem to change skins using RetroGameFan.

r4isdhc.com cards really suck...

Why have you got it as a dualboot? have RGF MCU as the main boot i.e. scrap the original kernel as it's crap and just use RGF MCU.

Actually as Wood for r4ids.cn carts and an altered AKAIO for r4ids.com are the official kernels and as *snip is an unsupported and unofficial kernel then it is FAKE.

It isn't unsupported, if it is, YSMenu is too. AKAIO hasn't officially co-operated with r4ids.com, and although *snip hasn't co operated with r4i-sdhc.com, its co-operated with R$ WOOD!

No but YOUR site does say that it does work on his cart.

You're right YOUR sites kernel isn't fake, It's a hacked version of the Official kernel with a slightly altered version of RGF MultiCart Update so you're a thief as well as a liar.

Yes it should. Just backup everything you have on your SDHC card at the moment, format it and copy the contents of the R4SDHC folder to the root of your SDHC cart and try to load with just RGF MCU on.

I think it's a problem of my _DS_MENU.DAT. I read it's possible to custom it but to me it's quite difficult.

If you just format the SDHC card and copy the contents of the R4SDHC folder to the now blank SDHC card then it should work.

Try changing the name of Default.nds to _DS_MSHL.NDS see if that works.

I tried to install RGF MCU
Try changing the name of Default.nds to _DS_MSHL.NDS but it doesn't work...
