So, I was suckered into this... assuming it would work fine on my New 3DS, as my gateway blue card did previously. It was only £4, and claimed... 2015! Works on 9.5... blah blah blah.

Got it through, and popped it in. The spongebob icon appears. Now... my N3DS has either the bluecardfix or the flashcarttimewarp done to it. But... nothing. It just errors out.

I go and try to get the latest update from the page on the cart. It's for firmware 7...something.

It's the same update already on the cart.

I go to the page on the box. NDS9.com and it's just a laughable mess. Links to nowhere etc.

What I'm here for... is to ask if anyone has any clue if I can do anything with this... piece of crap? :P

Hi, most of them are exactly the same clone, they just change the website, so u could try the site I use to get updates for mine http://www.r4isdhc.com/r4-download/, please note you must select the dual core version too, hope it works.

I´m not responsible if u brick your console or damage your card, I used these fw on differents cards from different sellers and it worked.

Set fire to it and purchase a SCDSTwo?

Honestly, why do people even bother with shitty clones?

"Shitty" clones are fine if you just wanna play DS games. DSTWO cards are a bit too expensive if you're not really interested in the "close-to-OK-ish" GBA emulation (especially with GBA injection lately).

Nintendo stopped blocking DS flashcarts since firmware 6.x, so it if says that it's for 7.x then it should work fine.

Maybe the microSD card needs to be formatted to FAT32 and the *.ds games need to be dropped in the root of the card. From what I read about it anyways.

Where did you buy it from? The r4i gold Rts works well.
That cart is actually good though. Also it costs twice as much.

I would say count your losses and move on, get a R4i Gold 3DS instead. It's a much better cart. But then again I wouldn't have bought that cart to begin with, it's not worth saving a few bucks to get a cart with zero support and less features when the R4i Gold 3DS is only $15.
Are you sure it's r4isdhc.in? That site doesn't even work.
It was more likely http://www.r4isdhc.com/2014-r4isdhc-dual-core/
The kernel update won't do anything for compatibility with your 3DS, what you need is a firmware update, and the page claims one is not needed for 9.8 support, so it's strange your cart doesn't work. It might just be faulty.
If it doesn't say r4isdhc.com on it, then it's likely a clone of a clone (according to the page linked) Which is even worse :P

i use dual core also and it work on 9.8.0.25

What update did you use? I've tried multiple times. On latest wood fw.

My update says its for 7.1.0

Updating via DS lite. current version - 7.00
upgrade version - 7.00

It's not working on a new or and old 3ds. Both on 9.2

Acekard 2i has to be the best "get it done" DS card there is.

It's fast and easy to use. Even their last update pretty much has everything running. Is there anything it can't run anyway??

Well it was blocked on dsi 1.4.5 and 3ds 4.4. Not exactly a champ in that regard.
It can be made to work on 3ds on any firmware but it involves downgrading the twl firm and whitlist. ugh.
Then there's the paper trick, double ugh.

Well thankfully I haven't had any problems with card pin fit! I was estatic when I could use it again on my 3ds - I was able to sell my Ds finally LoL

The typical gbatemp answer aka "i have no idea about r4i cards but i will post some random crap".
No, its not .com version as thats competely different type of r4i (dstt-based vs wood-based .in version).
R4i Gold is not better, its exactly the same with only difference being rts function.
Zero support? It works with all games, what support do you need?

Now back on topic. For 2015 .in version you need this kernel:
http://www.r4isdhc.in/download_white_new2013/R4isdhc-White1.62.rar
which is wood r4 1.62 and nothing else! Don't try to update firmware, 2015 carts already have the latest fw installed and will work on any 3ds up to 9.8.0
If its not working for you - what error are you getting? Generic black screen error?

Oh, I have my fair share of knowledge about R4 cards. Enough to know most of them are not worth getting for a number of reasons.
You just mentioned a big reason why the R4i Gold is better. But moreover, they're one of the few teams that release firmware updates instead of releasing a new cart making people have to pay all over again. Sure that might not matter right now since Nintendo hasn't blocked any DS flashcarts lately, but the R4i Gold is future proof, the same can't be said for other clones.
Also, the R4i Gold and R4iDSN are the only flashcarts that have OFFICIAL Wood support. The other Wood-based carts use a hacked/modded version of Wood R4 to work on their cart.

You obviously don't.

RTS? One slot, very slow saving/loading with no progress indicator, constant games corruption after loading? DSTT-based r4i cards are much better with RTS.

But moreover, they're one of the few teams that release firmware updates instead of releasing a new cart making people have to pay all over again.
Yeaaaaaah, they only released 12 versions of pcbs which couldn't be updated so you had to buy new cart 11 times:
pic12-samebuildasr4iihjzy.jpg
But what do I know, I don't have any knowldge about R4 cards (C)

And that matters why? We're suddenly getting new DS games in 2015 that will require new versions of Wood?

Its actually very amusing how gbatempers will praise dstwo and r4i gold while in reality most ppl don't need dstwo and all modern r4i clones will work exactly the same as gold. Or better if you need rts.

It matters because I don't like supporting companies that rip off other people's work.
And yes, they released some cart revisions, but that was a long time ago. The current revision is future proof (most likely)
Anyway it doesn't matter anymore I guess.

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"

Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
