According to this German let's play video it takes about 34 seconds to load whereas the Switch takes 50 seconds (only 10s less than the WiiU version). WB dropped the ball here, the Switch version should not be taking so damn long!

PS4: Home console
Switch: Portable console (Hybrid if you consider the dock)
Guess which one should be more powerful...

Okay but considering it's on a cartridge it should run faster than on a disc.
The fact is that ps4 installs the game from the disc to the hd, so it's not catridge vs disc, but catridge vs hard disk. Anyway it's true that it should run faster, cause flash is faster than hard disk.
EDIT: Partially ninja'd

That depends, in comparison to SD cards, hard disks can be faster specially when we are dealing with hundreds of small files. I don't know what kind of flash memory the Switch uses though.

No offense to anyone but I can wait 50s and don't see a problem here. Of course Ps4 can load it faster because it's a more powerful system and it reads straight from the hdd.
HDD in most cases is faster than most sd based data retrieval.

We can actually. The ps4 might be running without a patch so it's a fair comparision.
But the ps4 could have an ssd:P

Yea you right there, fallout 76 was a letdown, but it not that bad now, they have fixed slot of issues they had at launch. Biggest issue with Fallout 76 is its a pay to advance further type of game, which sucks
