Alright, I recently got some CDRs and I wanted to burn some games to my PSX.
-My PSX has been chipped, I know this because I've got 50 other pre-burnt games that work.
-The CDR's I use are Kodak CDR's. 52x, 700mb, 80min.
-Trying to burn Gundam Battle Assault 2
-I used PowerISO trial, 4x burn speed

Put the disc in my PSX, boots, hangs on the black Playstation screen.
Tried again and again for 10 times, after 4 it autoboots the media player/memory card manager

Help please?

Create a new image from the original disc using ImgBurn, it will create a bin+cue (mode2 2352), burn the image. If that doesn't work try different media.

just burn it with nero.. the iso file contains necessary options for the PS game Disc format. so itlll directly you burning option.

because im lazy, i burned the game with default options
*52x speed
*Finalized Disc

then .. all of my burned PSX games are working properly.

The image is already in a non standard format for running on actual ps1 hardware. I do not condone piracy and therefore I will not give detailed instructions other than to say "CDMage".

So, could you give detailed instructions? Which Nero? What did you click? etc.
When I used Nero, it burned the .iso to the disc like I just copied it onto a USB

Oh. Well, what does 'CDMage' do?

Start nero Startsmart

then find the option there named "Burn Image from a CD/DVD"

after that, it will take you to a proper program, to burn a Image file (which is iso file)

then you have to locate, where is the .iso file. then after you select it, itll directly point you to burning option..

once you necessary pick an options, then go click burn..

(there are no really specific options in burning PSX games, as long as you finalized the disc, and dont use a CDRW disc, the game that you burned must be working now.)

...

alternative:

run nero burning rom application

open the iso file

burn it with necessary burning options that i said earlier.

done.

Is that a program or part of Nero 9 Trial?
EDIT: I got it open, can't find the 'Burn image from CD/DVD' option.

QUOTEI used CloneCD but that was years ago so I couldn't tell you all the settings etc. I'm sure there's a guide around somewhere.

Ah. Well, if you could find this guide it would be very appreciated!

IMGburn is free software for burning ISOs. Use google, you will find it.

1. Install IMGburn.
2. Find your game ISO and right click on the ISO
3. select "burn with IMGburn"
it's that easy.

Well, I used IMGBurn to burn FF7 Disc 1. Write Speed set to 1x.
Everything was going ok, but when it hit 98%, the buffer went down.
Then when it hit 0, the writing finished.
Then it went to verify, and it couldn't do anything. Kept coming up with errors. So I stopped the verification process.

Anyway, so then I tested it on my PS1 and it hung on the white Sony logo, only to eventually go to the memory card screen.

Can someone tell me what I did was correct?

Also, could someone tell me how to use CDMage?
