Hacking Previous DSTWO Difficulties

Hello,

A while back I ordered a DSTWO for my 3ds xl (with the latest nin update 4.5.0). Unfortunately my 3ds xl only recognized it on the menu about 15% of the time, and when it does reconize it and I launch the dstwo it usually freezes. All in all I was only able to successfully boot up dstwo and play backups 5% of the time. I would always have to insert the card, take it out, and restart the ds over and over and over again for as long as 20min (probably more) to finally get it working.

On top of this, the micro sd wouldn't insert and click into the slot anymore so I had to tape the micro sd in as well.


I ordered this DSTWO from DSflashcart.com.They do offer a 3 month warranty if it arrives broken (which it did) but I waited too long and accidentally ruined the entire card after my rottweiler stepped on it, so I don't think they will take it back anymore.

Also, from the constant inserting and removing the dstwo in and out of the cartridge slot; that ended up breaking my entier 3ds xl so now it can't even recognize normal legit 3ds games. I ended up getting a new 3ds xl under warranty so no worries about that anymore.

As of today, I purchased a Wood R4i Gold 3DS (from a different retailer) and it's working perfectly with no problems, but I would still rather own a dstwo, so my question is..

Was this dstwo simply a lemon?
Did dsflashcart.com rip me off with a bad card?
If I buy another dstwo from another retailer will it work perfectly like the R4i Gold?
Does dstwo normally have problems working with a 3ds xl?
If I do purchase another dstwo can it still harm the 3ds's cartridge insert?

We saw a lot of people with contact issues with their DSTwo, all happening really suddenly. Those users that got a replacement said it worked fine.

So we're assuming it was a bad batch that went out to a ton of shops, since people got them from all sorts of store.

If I purchase a DSTWO from http://www.nds-card.com/ do you think I will get a normal DSTWO without any contact issues? Do you happen to know if they also have batches of bad DSTWOS?

I can't really say anything about that shop, people tend to get them from more popular shops like realhotstuff.

I see, maybe I'll purchase from there. Truthfully all I want is GBA emulation, how's the emulation on the dstwo? can it handle most roms?

Most games run, but at less-than-60FPS (frameskip), if you want portable GBA go with a DS/Lite with a slot-2 cart and get them running natively.

Thanks for the great idea. I looked into the cost for a original DS and I can get one refurbished for as little as $50, and a refurbished sp for $30. I also am interested in the gameboy micro, but that will probably cost more money and I'm not sure if it's worth it. I used to own an original DS but I played it to death .

I am reseller in Brazil and noticed this problem after updating the firmware 1.19.


I still can not pinpoint what causes it, but I think it is a problem in the firmware, or the way the DSTwo authenticates the 3DS because the same card works without any problem in DSlite.

The strange thing is that the problem does not occur with all cards.
It can also be a hardware problem.
