Hacking preloader v0.1 by crediar

IT works on all But the system Menu only boots from the preloader on PAL, and you need to use firmware 3.2
I'm not going to say its safe though, Cause really not enough people has tested it

well fgod i installed it and evrything worked fine but then i just reinstalled the right systemmenu.wad and evrythins is now back to normal

I guess I'm a little late to tell the guy who make the icon's that this isn't BootMii

and the only way out of this @ FGOD is to install the RVL-Systemmenu-v288/89/90.wad with Wad Manager, so it gets overwriten; PM me I have all NTSC-J, NTSC-U and PAL...!!!

Well... I know it's not BootMii and I am not comparing it to that... @ Marcan. And I know that you were not really addressing anything directly towards me. This is my 2 cents worth.

I actually believe what Marcan is saying. He has a point. But this is a risk anyone takes with messing around with anything that is considered to be unchartered waters.

And our consoles were not intended for this use. But how many times have we altered something we bought? I've been doing it since I had a c64.

Anyways.. back to the subject... Preloader..

I tried chatting with Crediar but he was not available...but you can bet your sweet ass... I am going to see if he can assist us with this or just brush us off as this is none of your business.

I mean.. come on.. This had to be a little part of an experiment. We are not hearing the whole story, nor probably will.

But, if he wants betatesters than I think we need a little more to go on about this and who is willing to take the 33% chance... and for some of us...it would be again...

I am all about it... Like I said before... I'll just take it back to Walmart... You can call it what you will... but it's really just another hack to me... it's just not hacking a console...it's hacking the marketing system... people cheat the system all the time... I am one. I am not bragging about nor do I promote it.
But I am a pirate and if it's there to grab in my abilities without harming anyone with physical violence...
then what the hell!?

I just admit to it more freely than the average hacker. I have always spoken my mind, forwardly.

So... if we can get the source anyone willing to make it region free so the other 33% can test this as well?

Because that is why I think it is really 33% PAL 33% JAP 33% USA 33% ????

Had this worked like it should, you could autoboot a dol when starting the Wii. Meaning you could autoboot Menu Patcher when turning on the Wii. The point of that? Launching backups from the disc channel upon turning on your Wii without having to launch another channel first. Useless for some, amazing for others.

That's exactly what my intentions were of doing this... and yes... it would be amazing.. so when I hack others wii's they will never see the backup channel, etc. that way I can make it more n00b proof. A nice little custom image at boot with hitting A button to continue instead of the safety screen would be sweet as well.

Then maybe some button action to load straight into homebrew instead of system menu.. and holding the reset to configure while powering on is not too shabby as well...

Anyways... it would be nice to see this for 3.2u as well as it does for 3.2e and I would run it on mine all the time until something more solid came...
