Well, the thing is when you look for life bar or magic bar, those are not represented by known number such as money. In order to find those values, you have to start looking for unknow value with tcpgecko in all possible range.
For example, in Hyrule Warriors for special bar, you start the game with empty special bar. So with TCPgecko, you put the range 10000000 and 4000000 (you go up 500000 instead of 40000000 but many game won't pass 40M range as they will start to crash the system if you put 40M+ range)then scan for unknown value. It will take quite a time but after it is done. You kill some mobs to fill you bar a little bit then pause the game click on changed value. kill some more then click changed value again. Then unpause , don't kill anything while running around for few second pause the game then click unchange value because you did gain any more spacial yet since you didnt kill. keep doing changed value when you gain little more bar and do unchanged when you did not gain anything since last change. If done correctly, you will end up with only a few address or the only address. What I can recommand you here is to go to youtube and check for "cheat engine unknown value" or something like that, it is basically the same thing.
The code 10710EBC 02030000 (3 bars with only 2 full) for special magic in Hyrule Warriors is kinda tricky though. In fact, the steps I just said wouldn't even find the address unless you are really lucky. This game bar acts more likely as a true and false type just like on the 3DS version of hyrule warriors ( when magic full value=1; when magic if not ful value=0). So in this case, it is preferable to use "changed value" only when bar is full or empty in order to find the right address.
So, now since we know how this game represent the magic or other stuff we found previously in early version. It would be faster to look for instance magic address with known value instead, because we now know when our magic is full, the value will only be 1 if 1 bar, 2 if 2 bars or 3 if 3 bars. To make the research even more faster, we notice that most of the codes are close to each other by a certain offset.
For example,
10710E40 00000000 Number ofKill player 1
7C (distance between) ================> 10710EBC - 10710E40 = 7C ( subtracting the two address: big one - small one)
10710EBC 03030000 max special

So, in near future, if you want to get your address again in a future update (Hyrule Warriors version 9999.9999.999 for instance :D ). You just look for the near easiest code to found among your previous code ( Like number of kill address), then after you found that address 10ZZZZZZ , you just add 7C (10ZZZZZZ+9C) and you get the next address

Thank you for the response I got it now, I was trying to understand this since I want to experiment with bayonetta 2, which has a health bar and yeah it will take time, but who knows, maybe I get lucky and find it. Btw I see this video which he is using codes for 1.9 Eshop version, and i know he is using the other version of Gecko, but he said something about making the code stay the same and for example damage taken is 0 no matter what, is there a way to do it in Gecko dNet, since I try damage take = 0, but I have to poke it every-time to keep it like that and really thank you very much for this information of how bars kind of work.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Oh that, you use JGecko to do the code injections. Gecko dNet is used for the memory scanning/viewing to make it easier to find things, then those addresses get compiled in JGecko to create the cheat table. When you send codes through JGecko, it freezes the addresses with the stated value in the code, so for the case of magic it'll freeze it at max, thus giving infinite magic.

Oooh!!! thats how, thank u. Also I found this codes of count ko when u are using the magic gauge.

10710E48 000003EC
10710E4C 000003EC

I change both of them to give me 9.999.999.

Yeah, nobody can find the address for Bayonetta 2 right now for Health or magic in order to beat Rodin. Because we don't have access to all memory yet nor the breakpoints which could make cheat much easier to be found. If you are just looking for health to beat the game then you can use the code I posted for more health or magic candies.

Yeah, I probably should have covered the differences between Gecko dNet and JGecko better in those videos, but maybe next time if I ever decide to redo those videos.

Well, you did great too, I like the video, I just notice u dont have problems with Jgecko U, like Java giving you error messages, at least mine did and keep thinking I was in another game and is not letting me load codes lists. I did all the steps u mention in each video for different ones. Still good work, it did give me some understanding on this programs.

Maybe this will sound stupid, but is it normal when u send a code it wonk change anything? Im trying to use the cheat table but it wont send it, even when It says it was successful. Game Im trying is Hyrule Warriors v1.10. It changes the data if I click write or poke, but then It wont allow me to freeze the address.

@MiZ J0K3R and here I thought I was gonna spend a rare day-off to find some codes for #FE, hehe. I suppose I can enjoy the game for now (just started), and maybe think about the possibility of a #FEGecko GUI :P Maybe.

UPDATE: accessing 4C329468 on Gecko dotNet crashes the Wii U (DSI Error) :(
(on 5.3.2U, Loadiine v3, and US version of #FE)

UPDATE 2: US version codes: [REMOVED]

UPDATE 3: https://github.com/mimicax/XCXGecko/blob/master/codes/sfe_v1.0.0u.txt

UPDATE 4: Urgh found out that memory shifted on boot. Will look into whether there's a base ptr pattern, or if memory offset is determined at runtime.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you use to capture this video? I was thinking about getting the Xcapture-1, but not sure or should buy a cheap capture and/or wait till something like 4K 60fps capture comes out to splurge? Also is that code in the video ASM type code?
I'm using an Elgato Game Capture HD. It's pricy but the best. The code is not in ASM :P

Okay I can't get the Buy Level address anymore since all my characters are already maxed before the update, and I don't have the money to afford the new DLC. :(
But all the rest of the codes have been updated and compiled in JGecko's code list.

Hyrule Warriors NTSC-U v1.10

Oh wow haha, thought I was done with this game. Been playing the pal version so starting over with the NTSC means I haven't level maxed yet. It's actually kind of fun starting from scratch, not really.

Oh! I'm on 5.5.0, could that be a cause? Update to 5.5.1?

Get a decent number already, 0-9 isn't a good value to search for, it's somewhere between 3800000-3900000 memory range, search for how many you have before you play a stage and then after. Or if you have a decent amount already, search for before and after you spend some.

Okay so weird thing. Guess I should also say this is the Eshop version but I found the value just fine, thank you by the way, but the problem is if I poke the value it actually doesn't stick. I can see the value change for like a milisecond and then it changes from what I changed it to. Any ideas?

Oh I've had that too. No idea how to fix that.

UPDATE 2: US version codes: (format: ADDR WIDTH SAMPLE_VALUE)

WARNING: HP, Max HP, EP, Max EP are changed back to regular values on level up

Oh wow haha, thought I was done with this game. Been playing the pal version so starting over with the NTSC means I haven't level maxed yet. It's actually kind of fun starting from scratch, not really.

Oh! I'm on 5.5.0, could that be a cause? Update to 5.5.1?

I can't say for sure that is or isn't the case, still trying to learn about why people are having different offsets. (Maybe the latest version created something that generates one of a few different offsets or something) If you have nothing else requiring you to stay on 5.5.0, or don't care about keeping a downgraded version, then it might work out.

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
