Chipped my Wii for Gamecube backups back in the early days, Modded my Wii U for gamepad Gamecube games thank to Nintendon't.
Sold my Gamecube 5 years ago. Great looking console but I barely used it since the Wii came out.

I modded 2x GCs: One w/ the XenoGC chip in the summer of 2020 during COVID and another just a couple of days ago using the Picoboot mod.

I've hacked 2x of both a Wii and a GC and no, the hack process is not the same. You actually have to solder a modchip to a GC to hack it and even though a Wii can play GC games, that does not compute, buddy.
Depends on your definition of "hack" since there are numerous game exploits that can get you into Swiss and thus booting homebrew software, with only a modded game save on the memory card required.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
